Footer area covered with Background image colors

Recommended Posts

I'm using an image background on my site and the Site Design Mode is set at Fixed-Width Mode. I'm also using a white color for my Content Background. I'm having the following problems: 1)the whole footer area is not getting the white content background color as the other template areas does, and 2) the footer area is completely covered with the background image colors.

Any tips and ideas will be very much appreciated.

Alex

Hi Alex,

Add the following code to your custom CSS:

#site .section-simple_nav .content {
background-color: white;
}

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the prompt feedback. It did work with the simple navbar, but I forgot to mention that I was going to switch to the Footer Columns Sidebar. When I did the switch it does have the background colors. Probably it just require a minor code edit.

By the way, I'm relatively new to this website and codes world and I'm eager to keep learning, if you know about any good introductory CSS online course, website or blog, please let me know.

Thanks,

Alex

You're right, for the footer column sidebars, you'll need to use custom CSS to adjust the background color.

This is a great introductory course to CSS: http://w3schools.com/css/default.asp (you'll find the CSS attributes you need listed on the left side in categories)

Thanks Catrina for your reply. I will go ahead and take a look at the w3schools website. In the meantime, do you think it is possible to modify the CSS code that Danny had provided for the simple navbar, in order to adapt it to make it work with footer column sidebars?

You'll need to use a different selector since you're changing the footer columns. It would be something like this:

#site #sb_footcols {background-color: #YOURCOLOR;}

I used this code: #site #sb_footcols {background-color: #white;}

I got this error message:

PageLines Custom LESS/CSS error.

parse error: failed at `background-color: #white;}` line: 969

Hi there, change #white to #ffffff

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

      OK - folks - back with another nit... The "back to top" link works - BUT - it's only active (i.e. clickable with the associated action following) when the mouse-over hovers over the footer area of the page. I did a quick change of the z-depth (to -1) and nothing made a difference. Any thoughts on how to make the *entire* back-to-top icon hover-able/actionable? Thanks!

      hi all, I have some trouble using PL5 on my site.
      I used plugins for event calendar (event on) and plugin (timetable responsive scheduler for WP) for schedule (classes) in the gym.
      The problem is, that post from this 2 plugins are shown without menu in header and footer. (I setup header and footer) in the page editor for all type of page.
      When I create a lesson, it creates posts with slug (I have a slug "lekce" & event for events).
      I try to edit the post with PL editor, but editor is not opening on the post.

      Do you have some idea where should be some problem? Thanx so much.
      here are links for the sites :

      Hi guys,
      I have been unsuccessfully trying to get my 3-column widgetized footer aligned centered. The widget section itself is aligned left because the alignment appears to be controller the widget's content only. The container that contains the widget section is aligned centered. I have chosen a 3 column layout and I added 3 widgets, assuming they would be aligned centered.
      Any idea of what I may be doing wrong?
      The page is question is: http://www.michaelkummer.com

      I'd like to request a section (or that this could be enabled on the background settings of the existing sections) in which we could set a image to stay fixed, just as we can see in the link below:
      http://www.bootply.com/render/100702 (you can see 2 different background images and everything scrolls on top of it.)
      Is it possible to be done without having to code it via CSS every time?

      How do I remove the leaf html5, css3 logos from the footer? Sorry if this have been covered a thousand times, but no clear cut solution available for my version of DMS2. Do I need to go pro to remove? Cheers!
