Is It Possible To Do Dropdown Menus In Fixed Navbar?

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to figure it out.  I have everything set up, menus, settings, parent associations, dropdown menus turned on.  Dunno why it isn't working.  Thoughts?

Hi toddattkins

You can read at forum...
"The NavBar not supporting the dropdown menus when "click". The Navbar section is based on Twitters Bootstraps navigation and they have designed their navigation this way."
"If you wish to have this type of functionality, you can either contact one of our Pros or use the Nav Classic menu section instead."

The way to override this Bootstrap issue is to use Nav Classic and style the menubar as you wish it to look via CSS.

Unfortunately, there's no solid solution for the Twitter Bootstrap limitations. We're just forced to accept them or find alternatives. In this case, Nav Classic is 'the' alternative that's proven to work.

I still can't figure out how to do this.  I checked in the docs and it says something about "indenting" a menu item.  Not sure what this means.  Anyone?

Hi Todd,

The first thing you need to do is create a custom Wordpress menu, you can learn how to do this here.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen

The Indenting is referring to this:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menus

Once your menu has been created, go to NavBar settings and select your menu in the drop down box.

You can see the NavBar settings here - http://support.pagelines.me/docs/site-options/navbar/

Please search our forums, before posting!

      Hi everyone,
      I was hoping someone could help. Firstly all my websites are DMS and all hosted on Flywheel. Recently I have noticed that on my sites including fresh installs with only DMS and a few DMS sections the main wordpress menus are disappearing when I hover them in the dashboard. This looks really flakey and I am not sure why. I have tried disabling the plugins but this does not help me.
      Please see screen grab. Has anyone seen this?
      Thanks, James

      I am using the fixed navigation bar at the top of my site (http://harqen.lisasarnowski.com). I have a set of menu items and use the dropdown feature. Here is the map of my menu (below). Each one of these items is linked to a page with content. When I view the site on a desktop, the link for the top-level item of any menu item that has child items (Our Tools and About HarQen) does not function.

      If I view the site on a mobile device, those items in the menu link properly.

      We use latest DMS and Wordpress.

      We would like to use a fixed-navbar at the bottom of the site. We use css: #fixed-top{bottom:0;}

      But how can we adjust dropdown to "drop-up"?

      Thanks.

      Trying to do some really simple font customization on the fixed navbar of my new site (www.sethcochran.com), but am just not figuring out how to get this done.  I have tried firebug, and read all the forum posts I can find and have tried three different custom css, but nothing seems to work

      I want to make the font in the fixed navbar bigger, bold, and white.

      .my-white-top {   .section-navi .nav-searchform, .section-navi ul {     font-size: 22px;     color: white;   } }   .bigger {   .navbar .navline > li > a {font-size: 22px; color:#ffffff !important;} }   test23 {   #navbaru89781 .navline > li > a { font-size: 30px;   } }
      None of these has worked.  Can anyone help?
