A Few Customizations I'm Currently Having Minor Difficulties With.

Recommended Posts

CjrMotley

Im a newbie and fairly new to using Pagelines frameworks for my new site, but there are a few customizations I'm currently having difficulties with, any suggestions or info related source would be greatly appreciated.

01. Is there a way to create a default size for all blog post thumbnail images?

02. How do I remove the frame from the thumbnail images on blog post?

03. Is there a way to remove post author name and post date from blog post temporary?

04. How do I set the bottom page navi to display previous or next page (instead of page numbers)?

05. Is there an option to decrease the "post title" text size on the blog?

06. (Sidebar) How do I change the text format from all caps to normal text and decrease the space between Widget's title and content.

07. Is there a default setting to make feature slider show full background image and no text information (or do i have to manually set this option with every post) ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

01. Is there a way to create a default size for all blog post thumbnail images?

Yes go to settings>media in the wp dash and they'll be an option to set the thumbnail size

02. How do I remove the frame from the thumbnail images on blog post?

You'll need to use css to remove the frame. You can download firebug www.getfirebug.com to find out the correct selectors and if you've not dealt with css before check out http://www.w3schools.com/css/ which will give you a background on how to use css.

03. Is there a way to remove post author name and post date from blog post temporary?

Go to Pagelines>Site options>Blogs and posts and look in the 'clip metabar' panel. You can edit those options there.

04. How do I set the bottom page navi to display previous or next page (instead of page numbers)?

As far as I'm aware there's no option to change this on the blog page. You'll need to remove the pagination from the drag and drop and replace with a plugin or bootstrap code.

05. Is there an option to decrease the "post title" text size on the blog?

This is set using on the wordpress htags, there's no inbuilt options to edit, you'll need to use css to alter.

06. (Sidebar) How do I change the text format from all caps to normal text and decrease the space between Widget's title and content.

Text formating options can be found in Pagelines>site options>typography if you click on the advanced tab you'll see there are options to edit the capitalization on each of the typography selectors. To change the space between the widgets you'll need to use css to edit the margins/padding

07. Is there a default setting to make feature slider show full background image and no text information (or do i have to manually set this option with every post)

This will have to be set on every slide.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

      Greetings
      I just migrated an old DMS2 site to PL5 at cassClayton.com. If you look at the site on Safari browser, you will see the top nav bar (NavPro) is white, but gets revealed as you start to scroll the page. NavPro is used in the Header section, then a Text section in which I have Shortcode for the Smart Slider3 plugin. Would have preferred to use a PL-compatible slider but found it difficult to get Flick and Impress slider to simply fill full screen, just height of images (they were filling whole screen, hence large black area filling in the rest).
      So seems on Safari that the load order of the plugin may be causing the Nav bar to be overwritten? or something.
      Hoping someone can help?
      thanks...  (works fine on Chrome, Firefox, even Tor, just not Safari)

      Hi guys!
      I have noticed that my primary sidebar becomes intermittently invisible when browsing through various blog articles on michaelkummer.com/blog.
      See:
      https://www.dropbox.com/s/z646sgoa3mfjl1j/Screenshot 2018-07-12 15.57.46.jpg?dl=0 and https://www.dropbox.com/s/vdledzzgginvwgv/Screenshot 2018-07-12 15.57.57.jpg?dl=0
      Upon refresh, the sidebar appears. I have been using the following CSS code to hide the sidebar on mobile without any issues.
      @media only screen and (max-width: 993px) {
      /* hide sidebars */
           .plsb {
              display: none !important;
          }
      }
      I tried to add the following CSS to force the sidebar to show on screens that are wider than 994 pixels but to no avail. Any clue what could be causing this issue?

      Hello there,
      We are still using DMS 2 and were wondering if it was at all compatible with slider revolution. (https://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380). Our issue is that the default revslider for DMS clips the top and sides of videos when made responsive. As the video is made smaller or larger the bottom of it tends to be cut off, or the sides are. We noticed slider revolution was 100% responsive, but have had numerous issues even getting it to display in DMS 2. We have tried using the shortcode, and various php scripts to no avail. Our last attempt was to try and load it with header scripts, but at this point we seem to be further away than ever.
      This leads me to a few questions:
      1. Is Slider Revolution even compatible with DMS2?
      2. Is there a way we can get 100% responsive video in DMS 2 with zero clipping? (tonyrobbins.com is another good example of the effect we are trying to achieve.)
      3. If Slider Revolution is compatible, how do we go about adding it in?

      Thank you for any help.

      Hi there!
      I'm trying to create a featured image for my new blog post. It has text in it, and when I add it as a featured image some of the text is cut off on the right.
      Could I get the ideal dimensions for featured images? Or, a way to customise the dimensions so that they are easier to fit in the way I need?
      Thank you kindly
      Nate
