e-mail notification in Support forum ?

Recommended Posts

Hi pagelines, I like the forum and your support. However, it is quite easy to miss any answer to any posted problems. COuld it be possible to config an email notification when an answer is posted (at leat to an own posted newTopic)? That`ll be the more interesting as I am thinking about the forum add-on to use on my side ... Sascha

If you look in the right hand column you'll see "RSS feed for this topic" if you click on that you should updates when the topic is updated

I think e-mail notification would be more useful than the current functionality, or perhaps a slight improvement in the current functionality. I may be incorrect, but the only way I can currently see/track my favorite topics when logged in (aside from viewing an RSS feed which doesn't provide room for times of last posts, the full name of the topic, etc.) by clicking on the "?" aside "Add this topic to your favorites." Then I can see what I'm tracking and helpful details. I'm not sure users know that the "?" is actually the same as "View Topics I'm Following". If email functionality is off the table, then a clear link at the top of the page that said "View Topics I'm Following" would be a helpful intuitive addition to the support forum. Thanks for your time! Nick

to follow-up, if you click on your own name, the right sidebar now has profile options, and it has a link for favorites. Again, not completely intuitive that you could find your favorites by editing your profile. A simple solution: have the "Favorites" link or "Profile" section at the top of the Sidebar in all pages. For example, when you click Support > Forums, you should definitely see your Favorites link in the right sidebar. Thanks again! Nick
