Navbar Customization

In the site http://diversified.blackcanyonconsulting.com/ we are developing a site and I have a mystery black line above the navbar. Further, the transparency settings seem to fail when it comes to IE8, but that is less of a concern (although if there is a hack I would love to know that too).

At any rate, the three divs that seem to be controlling the action are:

div class="navbar-inner "

div class="navbar-content-pad fix"

and navbar fix navbar-content-width pl-color-black-trans

(none seem to respond to border-top)

The transparency of the navbar is achieved as follows:

.navbar.navbar-content-width {

border-radius: 0;

background: none no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;

}

.navbar, .navbar-inner, .navbar-collapse {

height: auto;

overflow: hidden;

background:none no-repeat scroll 0 0 hidden;

box-shadow:none;

}

I have pounded it with Firebug and firefox web developer and I can't seem to buy a clue as to whether I am seeing exposed background, border, ?????

Thanks for your time.

Can you please post a screenshot of the issue? (I don't have IE so I can't see it)

Also, since transparency in IE8 doesn't work, it's out of our hands so I don't think there would be any workarounds for it, unfortunately.

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

Hi there, there's some additional css applied to the black trans property. Paste in the code below to delete it, its in firebug but much further down the css list.

.navbar.pl-color-black-trans {

    border-top: none;}

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Thanks much, I'll hoist a bitters in your honor at my next opportunity!

When you say "much further down the list" can you tell me what you mean by that? I looked through style.css and style.less as my chief searches, but didn't find .navbar.pl-color-black-trans.

I found .navbar

and I found .pl-color-black-trans

but not the construction where they are both together without a space before the period.

Thanks again.

Hi there, glad it worked :-)

Sorry I meant further down the list in firebug. I'm not sure where it would be displayed in the stylesheets.

If you haven't used firebug check it out at www.getfirebug.com. Much easier way to locate the css, plus you can see the changes live on screen then copy/paste the css back into Pagelines in the custom code box.

      Hello,
      I have an issue with NavPro on mobile when the link of the menue is on the same page.
      Here is my website: http://foundersofthefuture.co
      The isssue comes from the fact that in my menue most of the items send somewhere else on the same page using anchor link (eg. #container_u788888).
      This works well on desktop but on mobile, nothing happens when clicking on the link. One of the link of the menue of the homepage "France" sends to another page of the website and this one works well even on mobile.
      I am using the Pagelines framework theme and also used a wordpress plugin (jQuery Smooth Scroll) for smooth scrolling .
      Thanks in advance for your help and let me know if I need to provide more information.
      Best,
      Pierre

      Hi there!
      I'd love to have some social media buttons in my navbar like my online-shop has!

      Can someone explain me how to create them? I tried a lot but don't know how to realize them...

      Hi guys. Just now trying out Platform 5. I like the reletive simplcity of the new interface but there are things I'm used to in DMS that I'm not seeing yet in 5. Is there a good manual, documentation, video series about some of the basics?
      In particular, I've got a simple navigation menu, created the standard way in WP menus section with several top level parents, then 3-4 children menu items below a couple parent items. Have them moved to the right to create the standard parent-child relationship but all I see on the page is the parent level items - no dropdown!. So I changed themes from Platform5 to the standard 2015 default theme and now I see absolutely no menu at top, except for the mobile (hamburger?) icon.
      In DMS, one had Navi and Navbar, etc sections and each would work differently and give different results. How do you work the menu system in 5? And how get different results ?
      thanks

      I have a problem at http://kambo.world. Using navbar for the main site navigation. It works fine in normal/desktop mode [first screenshot], using the WP Menu I have specified. But in hamburger mode it seems to do its own thing, picking a few pages at random [second screenshot] A fix for this greatly appreciated!
