Recommended Posts

imoreno

Hi,

I have a website that needs to be in two languages: Hebrew and Enlish.

One is LTR and one is RTL.

Does pagelines ahve mulitple language support in this case?

if it does - how may I integrate both languages? which is the best way?

Thanks,

Michal

Hi,

PageLines completely localization ready. However, if you wish to have multiple languages, I recommend the plugin WPML - http://wpml.org/

      Dear Pagelines team,
I have been using the PL Accordion Shortcode and it has worked efficiently and beautifully. But a problem has arisen on RTL pages: The space between the accordioncontent bars increases considerably. I cannot see any difference in the HTML and can't find anything in CSS or anywhere else that might cause this. I'd be most grateful if you could cast your more experienced eye on this. Here are two pages:
      LTR page: http://animatinglibraries.com/?activities=space-race
      RTL page: http://animatinglibraries.com/?activities=space-race-2&lang=ar
Can you see what might be the case? It irks me that I don't understand it - and can't prevent it from happening.
Thank you for your ongoing assistance - and your patience in the ongoing epic LTR/RTL saga...
      Yours faithfully, Jan.

P.S.: In case it's helpful, here are the actual HTML portions with the accordion shortcodes for these pages:
      LTR:
      [pl_accordion name="activity1"][pl_accordioncontent name="activity1" class="activity" number="1" heading="INFO" open="no"] [row] [span3] <span style=font-weight:bold;">Group size</span> 11 - 15 <span style=font-weight:bold;">Age</span> Secondary School <span style=font-weight:bold;">Gender</span> Mixed <span style=font-weight:bold;">Profession</span> Pupils [/span3] [span3] <span style=font-weight:bold;">Sessions</span>   <span style=font-weight:bold;">Session duration</span> 1 1/2 hours <span style=font-weight:bold;">Type</span> Introduction <span style=font-weight:bold;">Level</span> Beginner [/span3] [span6] <span style=font-weight:bold;">Report:</span> Breaking the frontiers of space [/span6] [/row] [/pl_accordioncontent] [pl_accordioncontent name="activity1" class="activity" number="2" heading="PHOTOS" open="no"] [row][span6] WORKSHOP IMPRESSIONS </br>[justified_image_grid ids=8079 preset=5 row_height=100 height_deviation=25 prettyphoto_social=no lightbox=colorbox mobile_lightbox=no ][/span6]   [span6] MODELS AND SETS </br>[justified_image_grid ids=8080 preset=5 row_height=100 height_deviation=25 prettyphoto_social=no lightbox=colorbox mobile_lightbox=no ][/span6][/row] [/pl_accordioncontent] [pl_accordioncontent name="activity1" class="activity" number="3" heading="VIDEO" open="no"] No video [/pl_accordioncontent][/pl_accordion]   RTL: [pl_accordion name="activity2"][pl_accordioncontent name="activity2" class="activity" number="4" heading="INFO" open="no"][row][span6] <span style=font-weight:bold;">Report:</span> Breaking the frontiers of space [/span6] [span3] <span style=font-weight:bold;">Sessions</span>   <span style=font-weight:bold;">مدة اللقاءات</span> 1 1/2 hours <span style=font-weight:bold;">نوع الورشة</span> مقدمة <span style=font-weight:bold;">مستوى الورشة</span> Beginner [/span3] [span3] <span style=font-weight:bold;">حجم المجموعة</span> 11 - 15 <span style=font-weight:bold;">الفئة العمرية</span> مدارس ثانوية <span style=font-weight:bold;">الجنس</span> مختلط <span style=font-weight:bold;">المهنة</span> تلاميذ [/span3] [/row] [/pl_accordioncontent] [pl_accordioncontent name="activity2" class="activity" number="5" heading="صو" open="no"] [row] [span6] ر : نماذج ومواقع </br>[justified_image_grid ids=8079 preset=5 row_height=100 height_deviation=25 prettyphoto_social=no lightbox=colorbox mobile_lightbox=no ][/span6] [span6] ر: انطباعات من الورشات </br>[justified_image_grid ids=8080 preset=5 row_height=100 height_deviation=25 prettyphoto_social=no lightbox=colorbox mobile_lightbox=no ] [/span6] [/row] [/pl_accordioncontent] [pl_accordioncontent name="activity2" class="activity" number="6" heading="صو" open="no"] No video [/pl_accordioncontent][/pl_accordion]

      Hello,
I am encountering a problem I can't seem to solve. On TRL pages, the PL accordion shortcode displays the accordion headers, but does not open up the accordions. On the English page it works well. Here are two pages (first LTR, then RTL):
      http://animatinglibraries.com/?p=7715
      http://animatinglibraries.com/?p=7744&lang=ar
I looked carefully for any mistakes and recreated it a few times. The accordions don't want to open on the RTL page. When I set them to be open by default, they are open (so the content is really there), but when I close them, they don't open again.

Have you any idea what might be the issue? It could be a mistake on my side but I can't find what it is. Here are the two segments with the shortcode. Just in case it makes a difference: They are all within one post - on the LTR page the Arabic part is hidden with CSS, on the RTL page the English is hidden.

Thank you for your help, I am always glad that you are there to assist. So far all my woes have been sorted out - I hope this one will, too! I used a different shortcode plugin and it worked but it did not look as nice the PL one and it would be great to stay within the system! Yours faithfully, Jan.

Here is the shortcode section on the LTR page (English). It works perfectly (and beautifully!):
[pl_accordion name="activity1"][pl_accordioncontent name="activity1" class="activity" number="1" heading="INFO" open="no"] [row] [span3] Group size 11 - 15 Age Secondary School Gender Mixed Profession Pupils [/span3] [span3] Sessions Session duration 2 1/2 hours Type Introduction Level Beginner [/span3] [span6] Report In this workshop, members of the library youth group learned how to make cut-out models and created their own little universe from paper. The same shortcode (cut and pasted, in fact, the only difference being a few translated headings) doesn't open on the RTL page (Arabic - bilingual setup with WPML):
[pl_accordion name="activity2"][pl_accordioncontent name="activity2" class="activity" number="1" heading="INFO" open="no"] [row] [span6] Report In this workshop, members of the library youth group learned how to make cut-out models and created their own little universe from paper. Dear Pageliners, I'm a bit desperate because I am encountering a serious problem I cannot solve. I asked this question here last week, forgive me if I start a new topic in case the old one has slipped the net.

I have a site with two languages, one LTR and one RTL. WPML works perfectly as a language switcher. Pagelines handles text very well on RTL pages. But it doesn't display images - in its own sections. Images in shortcodes or other sections are displayed. You can see it here: Images on a page in English: http://animatinglibraries.com/wordpress/
Missing images on same page in Arabic: http://animatinglibraries.com/wordpress/?lang=ar
There are some images - all of them in shortcodes (Justified Grid Gallery in this case) or other sections (Flyp, in this case). I disabled every single shortcode I am using, but the problem prevails.  Please have a look at this if you can, at the moment it's stopping me in my tracks...

      Yours faithfully, Jan.

Dear Pagelines team, I have set up a bilingual website, with a WPML language switcher. The result is that I have one set of LTR pages (for English) and one set of RTL pages (for Arabic). Everything works well, I can edit the page (the old problem with the Editor in RTL has been solved!), the text appears correctly. But images don't show up! I can upload them, enter them in a Media Box, but they don't appear on the page, no matter how often I save changes and refresh. You can see the result here: http://animatinglibraries.com/wordpress/?lang=ar. Inside of sections and plugins (Flyp from the Pagelines Store and Justified Image Grid, a gallery plugin) images are still shown. But through the usual Pagelines ways I cannot get them at all. Have you any idea what may be amiss? I am very grateful for your care!
      Yours faithfully, Jan.

      Hey,

I have a multilingual site in both RTL and LTR.
On the RTL version, I'd like the grid to act accordingly (have margins and floats from the right instead of the left).

I tried but I couldn't get it to work without messing grid responsive breaking points.

      How can I achieve this?
Remember that the grid responsive breaking points ONLY resets margin-left to 0 so that needs to be taken into consideration.

      Thanks in advance,
      -kedmyster
