Can I make the features slider appear with a sidebar?

Recommended Posts

I want to have a slider fill two thirds of my page width, with a sidebar to the right of it. So far I've come to the conclusion that this can't be done, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I would prefer to do this with the the Kenburn slider, however it's not responsive and therefore useless in my opinion. I'd prefer not to have to drop as far down as using a carousel unless I absolutely have to.

Thanks

Andy

Andy, it sounds like you have the slider located in a page template (Dashboard > PageLines > Drag & Drop > Page Templates). You can see that it work on my site, http://www.epicurus.com.

If you find it in one of the available templates there, simply drag it from Active Sections to Available Sections.

Then, if you click the image map on the right side on the "Content Area" so that becomes blue, you can slide the Features Slider from Available to Active Sections in the template of your choice.

When the slider is in the Content Area, the sidebar is next to it as opposed to the Page Template, which is full-width.

If you're a member of Plus*, we offer several responsive sliders (included with your subscription) or, if you prefer, we offer them via the Store (Dashboard > PageLines > Store > Sections) on an individual purchase basis.

You may wish to spend some time reading our documentation about Sections. http://www.pagelines.../wiki/Main_Page

Let me know if you need additional guidance with this.

Thanks for the quick reply, there are just so many options in PageLines I've not yet got the hang of how to do everything.

I've already successfully moved the features section as you described and it worked exactly as I had wanted it to.

Thanks again

Andy

My sidebar is now showing up below the content, but only on the homepage.
I've tried disabling plug-ins individually, checking column width, and <div> tag errors on the page as well as in individual posts that are displayed on my homepage. I don't know exactly when this issue arose, so I don't know what else to try!

I have to say that I like the Layout and the Template based sections. Some of them are really impressive.
One of the things that I would like to request though is the possibility of being able to dynamically rearrange the layout.
An example of what I am talking about is take the Agency Section. It's current layout starts with the
Splash Module then the Portfolio Module then the Service Module and so on and so forth.
What would be great is if we were able to move these modules around. I.e have the Service Module first
then maybe the Splash, and then the portfolio.

      Hi,
Is is possible to have different layouts for different Post categories? We have Blog posts, News posts and Case studies that all are posts, but is it possible to differentiate their layouts?
So far when I change a post layout it affects all Post type pages. Could it be done somehow with creating a separate template?
      Examples below

Although my layout in edit view is correct, when I look at the page the layout is wrong. I have moved the sections around and the layout remains the same when I view it. Im using
       PageLines Platform 5 - v5.0.162 running a Pageline theme &  Wordpress version 4.6.1
The page is http://kwamedawes.com/speak-from-here-to-there-the-dialogue/ the section order is incorrect. and
http://kwamedawes.com/speak-from-here-to-there-the-poems/ top section is laid out like the bottom section, but displays as shown.

      Thanks for any help.

My client is asking for a new blog layout similar to the one found here:  http://blog.perkinswill.com/pokemon-augmented-reality-and-the-future-of-urban-design/
They have a splashy full-width background image overlaid with part of the blog and one sidebar.  The navigation arrows send you to the next post.
Does anyone know if this is even possible using Framework 5?  If so, can you send me some advice on how to get here?
      Totally stuck!
      Thanks.
