Migration from Platform to Pagelines Fail

Recommended Posts

egottsha

When I attempt to migrate to Pagelines Framework from Platform, no errors, but looks like stylesheets are not working. Formatting is completely stripped. I followed all the instructions prior to migrating. Everything looks good in the pagelines dashboard? I've gone back to platform until I get a clue? Any help is welcome.

What are you expecting to migrate?

A 'few' of the settings are common between PlatformPro and PageLines Framework. Not all of them, just a few.

At the time of writing Platform => Framework 2.0 was a possible upgrade, mostly. But 2.3.x is light years ahead of Platform now.

Perhaps I'm not understanding you. I'm expecting to use Pagelines without redoing a nonprofit site from scratch. Are you saying that I have to redo the whole site from scratch?

Did you make a backup?

Sorry your not understanding me, sure you can use it for a non profit site, what im saying is it isnt just a one click upgrade from one product to another, they are basically 2 different products with some common settings, but not many.

Maybe I am doing this wrong. Let me explain. When I go to the new page lines theme, it lets me make changes to the templates but they don't render. There is no framing. I can't get it turn on. So, no sidebars, no headers, no footers, no blog, nothing. And when I attempt to change the layout just to see if I can get it to start using the frame instructions, all it does is justify a bit. This isn't a simple case of me being stupid, it's more than that (though I won't argue the stupidity).

Templates dont render? No framing? What isn't turning on?

I would really suggest installing this locally and having a test, converting a live established site from one product to another is sheer madness.
