Change layout dimensions by page

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to change the layout dimensions for a specific page?

Currently, from what I can tell, the only way to edit the dimensions of the layout is to use the layout dimensions editor in Site Options -> Layout Editor. I have a two-column layout set as the default. I'd like to use that same layout for a specific page, but with different dimensions defined. In this case, the only thing I want to change is the width of the layout & width of the sidebar.

Would my best route be to edit the CSS? Or is there another setting somewhere else I'm missing?

Hi joeventures

You don´t need edit the CSS, you can try add in

PageLines > Site Options > Custom Code > CSS Rules

or add CSS rules in "Pagelines Customize plugin"

the CSS rules to change width for a specific page.

It is advisable to learn how to do this on your own too.

Check out http://www.pagelines...wiki/Custom_CSS

You can make page specific CSS customizations by utilizing the "page-id-x" class.

E.g. .page-id-2 #content {} would only make changes on page "2", whatever that would be.

Hi Joe, yes you would have to edit using css to edit the width of each column etc. The layout editor will only allow for one set of figures to be assigned to each layout template.

Let us know if the above solutions work for you or if you require further assistance.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

My sidebar is now showing up below the content, but only on the homepage.
I've tried disabling plug-ins individually, checking column width, and <div> tag errors on the page as well as in individual posts that are displayed on my homepage. I don't know exactly when this issue arose, so I don't know what else to try!

I have to say that I like the Layout and the Template based sections. Some of them are really impressive.
One of the things that I would like to request though is the possibility of being able to dynamically rearrange the layout.
An example of what I am talking about is take the Agency Section. It's current layout starts with the
Splash Module then the Portfolio Module then the Service Module and so on and so forth.
What would be great is if we were able to move these modules around. I.e have the Service Module first
then maybe the Splash, and then the portfolio.

      Hi,
Is is possible to have different layouts for different Post categories? We have Blog posts, News posts and Case studies that all are posts, but is it possible to differentiate their layouts?
So far when I change a post layout it affects all Post type pages. Could it be done somehow with creating a separate template?
      Examples below

Although my layout in edit view is correct, when I look at the page the layout is wrong. I have moved the sections around and the layout remains the same when I view it. Im using
       PageLines Platform 5 - v5.0.162 running a Pageline theme &  Wordpress version 4.6.1
The page is http://kwamedawes.com/speak-from-here-to-there-the-dialogue/ the section order is incorrect. and
http://kwamedawes.com/speak-from-here-to-there-the-poems/ top section is laid out like the bottom section, but displays as shown.

      Thanks for any help.

My client is asking for a new blog layout similar to the one found here:  http://blog.perkinswill.com/pokemon-augmented-reality-and-the-future-of-urban-design/
They have a splashy full-width background image overlaid with part of the blog and one sidebar.  The navigation arrows send you to the next post.
Does anyone know if this is even possible using Framework 5?  If so, can you send me some advice on how to get here?
      Totally stuck!
      Thanks.
