My wordpress and Pagelines is in French but some words are in English. How to translate ? Should modify the php files? If so where are they?

Hi,

We do offer a community-driven translation center for PageLines and welcome you to sign-up and help translate. If your language is not listed, please let us know and we can add it for you.

Alternatively, you may add translations to your site manually by following the below method. All of the PageLines products are localization-ready, which means they can easily be translated in other languages. We usually recommend the following steps during the localization process:

  • Look up Localization on WordPress
  • Use PoEdit to create your translation files.
  • After translating the file by Poedit save the translation. Poedit creates two files for you. One with the extension “.po” and the other one with the extension “.mo”.
  • Upload both files to the folder “language” located in PageLines folder.

You will also need to follow the instructions from the WordPress in your language codex article.

Thank you for the answer. I verify files. po. I found "search" in the search bar and "search results for" The translation is done correctly but does not appear in my wp site ! Yet all my wp is in French.

However, I can not find "Currently viewing the category" or "previous Entries" :-)

Can you help me?

I found it ! It was necessary to modify the file. pot in the "PageLines" folder.

Sorry but I just checked and it does not work! I translate the baths in the file pageline.po but it does not work! : (Can you help me?

wp-content => themes => pagelines => language ===> "pagelines.pot"

I said that I have to change. "pot" with ".po" to edit the file in PoEdit.

What are you doing with the .mo file? can you screenshot the language folder?

Right well thats just the pot file, when you click save in poedit it creates a .mo file, this is the machine translation file, thats the one you have to upload.

How to enable translation file in wordpress or elsewhere?

Why the language PageLines file is .pot and not a .po ? If I want to edit to EditPo, i need to change the file in .po How else ?

There is a file. EditPo .mo after save. I upload but it does not work :(

You cant edit the pot file with a text editor, you have to use poedit. The when you save in poedit it creates a mo file. The mo file is the one you upload to the language dir.

I would start with the french po i link you already. and open that in poedit.

Not sure what you mean by just '?'.

Login here http://pagelines.com/translate/projects/pagelines-framework/fr/default with your launchpad username/password, at the bottom is an export button to download the french po file. You can then load that po file into poedit, edit it, then save it as a mo file.

The mo file has to be renamed and uploaded as per the instructions in the other post.

Ok I got the file in French. Where do I put it? Should I change the name that is "PageLines-framework-fr.po"?

OK so open it in poedit, and make your edits. Then save. You should now have PageLines-framework-fr.po and PageLines-framework-fr.mo

Rename PageLines-framework-fr.mo to fr_FR.mo and upload into the customize/language folder/

      Anything Boxes And Polylang Language Filtering Problem

      Over the last month I had extensive communications with the developer of the (premium) Anything Boxes section (in Pagelines store) (Adam Munns) and the developer of the WP Polylang Multilingual plugin (Frederic Demarle).
       
      This was because the following problem occurred:
      Anything Boxes showed all posts of two languages (Dutch and English) on the respective static frontpages for each language. It should of course have filtered posts for Dutch language on the Dutch frontpage and English on the English frontpage.
       
      The solution to this problem was simple in the end. When duplicating a page for use in another language the settings for Anything Boxes were not copied to the new page and I should have set these settings manually again on the new page. I wasn't aware of this, but it makes sense. Because of this the pages didn't know how to differentiate between posts from different languages.
       
      The dev of Polylang told me that Polylang is currently smart enough to synchronize metas like Featured images and page templates but it does not work out of the box with metas created by plugins and themes but (according to Frederic) it is rather easy to add them in the list using the filter 'pll_copy_post_metas'.
      He mentions that he is not sure that these 'PageLines Meta Settings' are stored in post meta but that would make sense according to him. He asks if the Pagelines dev team will be interested to support this feature in the future.
       
      I'm also wondering if you will consider adding Polylang translation support for manually editable strings like the 'Read more…' strings in Pagelines Settings.
       
      Well that's of course up to you but I thought to let you know to be able to take this into consideration. I also post this for other users in case they experience the same kind of trouble and are looking for an answer.

      I am using the shortcodes for tabs, as described in the documentation.

      When I insert the following code:
