Post Author Avatar

Hello, do I use a hook if I would like to add the post author's avatar on the homepage?

If I have to use that, what would be the exact command?

Is there another way to do that?

My website allows visitors to make submission of photos and text, and I would like their avatars to be shown next to their post.

Visitors who post are random and I may not know them, hence it has to be automatic that once someone posts, his or her avatar goes up with the post.

But within pagelines drag and drop, I can only add "post author" into "blog post".

How do I add "post author" with the avatar into the "blog" section (where all the latest posts will be shown)?

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

I would think the easiest option would be to go with a plugin. There's a few options on the link below.

http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/21-great-plugins-to-manage-multi-author-blogs-efficiently-and-successfully/

Take a look, if none of those suit what you're looking for then we can look into adding by a hook.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Thank you James,

Will check that out. But is there no way to do so directly using what Pagelines offer?

Meanwhile, would you be able to advise what is the hook exactly to add to the Base theme?

Hi,

If you go to the PageLines Store within your website's, you will find a plugin called Action Map. This will assist you in finding the location of the hook you wish to use. Once you have installed/activated the plugin, go to your homepage, in your Wordpress admin bar, there will be a new link available in the top left hand corner called Action Map. Clicking this will display all the available hooks on this page.

That's great to hear and no problem.

The topic was marked as resolved.

I know this topic is marked resolved, but any chance you could share the hook you've used to include the user avatar?

      Hi there,
I'm looking to use the Powerloop option to display my blog posts on our homepage – however, I only want the title (in a smaller font size) and the Read More button to display. Is there a way to do this? We had achieved it on a previous version, but I'm not figuring it out now (and don't know if standard settings have changed since then). Our homepage is www.frakture.com . Forgive me if there is a super simple solution! ;-)
      Thanks in advance!

How do you move the thumbnail on a blog post?  I need the thumbnails for the blogroll page, but they show up at the top of the actual post page.  Normally, this would be fine, but I've been requested to put it under the blog title.  Any suggestions?
      Thanks.

      Hey everyone
I am very sorry if this question has a "deja vu"  taste but I have been looking for more than 2 hours a way to add a phone number in the top right corner of my header website.
Before asking that, I have read many of the questions related to that subject, from hooks and action map to function.php and hooker plugin but I am very lost. Plus many links kindly given by some of you are now 404 pages
Is there anyone willing to help me find the easiest way to add this number please ?
      In advance, thank you
