Don't Understand your menu/ Navigation system

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am having trouble understanding your menu/navigation system.

In the APPEARANCE-MENU section, you have 4 menu LOCATIONs to choose from:

Page Navigation in Footer Columns

Simple Nav Section

Primary Website Navigation

BrandNav Section Navigation

But in your LAYOUT- TEMPLATE you have:

in the header choices are NAV CLASSIC, SECONDARY NAV, and BRAND NAV

in the TEMPLATE area all you can choose is the SECONDARY NAV.

So the question s are:

- What is the SECONDARY NAV in relation to the 4 LOCATIONS presented by WP?

- What is the NAV CLASSIC in relation to the 4 LOCATIONS presented by WP?

- How can I have 2 different menus in the CONTENT area?

- What is the SECONDARY NAV in relation to the 4 LOCATIONS presented by WP?

Secondary Nav is an optional navigation section that is separate from Nav Classic, Nav Bar, etc. so it has no relation to the locations presented by WP.

- What is the NAV CLASSIC in relation to the 4 LOCATIONS presented by WP?

Nav Classic is a main navigation section that you can use if you'd like to use the standard navigation bar. It has no relation to the locations presented by WP.

- How can I have 2 different menus in the CONTENT area?

You cannot use Navigation sections in the Content area. These sections need to be placed in the Header template area. If you add these sections to Header, you can use Nav Classic and Secondary Nav.

Ok,

so how do I populate the SECONDARY NAV then?

AND So the only way to have menus in the content area is to have it in the pages html content then?

Create a Custom Menu in Appearance > Menus and apply it to the Secondary Nav by going to PageLines Meta Settings in the page editor for the page where the Secondary Nav is displayed and scroll to the bottom where the Secondary Nav settings are and select the custom menu from the dropdown list.

Yes.

Hi there, we're not been made aware of anymore menu options being add to the next version at the present time.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

      Hi -
Pulling my hair out over here, and would love an assist!
Site I am building, http://www.livkundalini.com/home, has a problem with the submenu items in the nav not appearing.
If anyone wants to see what the Nav should look like, feel free to look in the footer on the left hand side.
Have tried disabling Pagelines and using the twentyseventeen theme, but problem persists.
Saw this error (pasted at the bottom of this post) displaying in the inspector, and saw discussion of Jetpack potentially being a culprit. Disabled Jetpack, but the problem persists.
Had the hosting company even flush the server-side cache, but no avail.
Any thoughts? Please? It's the only thing keeping me from launching this site!
      Many Thanks,
      Todd

I have tryed to uses the existing solution, that I have found in the forum
I changed the colours of my nav (simple nav) and the hover effect (a. hover).
I really tryed to highlight the active/used link in the nav but I cant figure it out.
I want it to be black when active.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

http://731.34b.myftpupload.com/ this website is using the NavPro navigation in Platform 5. It has a lot of menu items, so it breaks to two lines when the window is sized down. What is the media query to make the navigation either a) switch to "mobile mode" at a higher width, or b ) expand the nav into two lines. Thanks

It would be nice to have an option in the impuls section to only view hamburger menu.  That or let nav pro have that option ad also transparent background. Impuls is a great section. Love it.
