I can't 'pin' images from blog posts

When I try to 'pin' an image from one of the blog posts on one of my websites onto my Pinterest board, the only images I can pin are from the carousel. The images on the blog itself show up faded with a message 'Sorry, cannot pin this image'.

Does anyone know why this would happen?

I wondered if the carousel was the problem as I have another PlatformPro site where I don't use the carousel and I can pin from that one.

Is there a known problem or am I overlooking something obvious? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When you deactivate the carousel on the site where the problem is happening, can an image be pinned?

I've Just given that a go and it didn't make a difference, except, of course, there were no images to pin without the carousel.

Are you using NextGen to display images in your posts?

No, all images in blogposts are from my flickr account.

That's the problem. Pinterest seeks to pick up the images supplied locally. It doesn't want to go from your site to Flickr, then back to your site, then to Pinterest to display the images. The same thing happens with NextGen. I'd suggest posting your images directly to your posts and that should resolve this.

Thanks Rob, but it isn't that. I've got another PlatformPro site where I don't use a carousel and all the blog post images come from Flickr and I can 'pin' the images in the blog on that one.

Hi,

You're using Platform Pro 1.2.3 can you please backup your entire site, database and custom code and then update to the latest version, which is 1.5.3.

We we will be unable to provide support until you have the latest version of Platform Pro installed and active on your site.

Also, have you thought about upgrading to PageLines Framework, as Platform Pro is now considered a legacy theme.

      Carousel not showing with NextGen

      For the site https://marshallsirishpub.com I am running
      Wordpress 4.9.4
      Pagelines base theme 1.0.2
      Pagelines Framework 2.5.0
      Specific page not working properly is https://marshallsirishpub.com/photo-gallery/
      I am using NextGen gallery which is activated and showing the pictures in the gallery.  Page was edited to add the carousel and points to the NextGen gallery.  Meta settings and page were both saved.
      When I'm logged into Wordpress I see the following error at the top of the page:
       Carousel 
      THE PLUGIN FOR THE SELECTED CAROUSEL MODE NEEDS TO BE ACTIVATED (FLICKRRSS OR NEXTGEN GALLERY). SETUP PLUGIN →
      The site was hacked last month and it seems the hacker changed some things on the site, but I can't figure out what was changed to make the Carousel not show on the page.

      The Grams section of Platform 5, is lacking lots of important features, that DMS multigram was having, there is no space for another user ID asie the default user, that was one of the strongest point of multigrams, because the Hashtag option cannot capture everyone, multiple User ID is the default standard for Instagram,  Also there is no carousel or slide on this one, it means now that if you want to display 18 pictures in one page all will be visible at once thats not good engineering.
      My appeal to the Pagelines Team, guys please let the next update have all the DMS Multigrams features that is missing on Platform 5 Grams, that will bring it to its glory...

      My client has just flagged up a problem with the Pinterest share button. When they click it on any of theor blog entries Pinterest comes back with the following error:
      Parameter 'image_url' (value http:) is not a valid URL format.
      I've checked this myself and it does indeed happen. The post has a featured image, these are using standard Pagelines DMS sections and the the site is totally up to date.

      Hi,
      Is it possible to add a sidebar only for one post category? Without adding extra plugins or editing the theme code? 
      I have 4 categories of posts (blog post, news, job listing, case studies) but I want to have a sidebar only for the blog posts to appear. 
      How can I do that?

      The comments on blog posts isn't working? it used to but now if you click the 'leave comment' link it goes to the bottom of the page and there is no comment box
