iBlogPro4 on Framework

Good day all you wonderfully, clever people.

I wonder if someone would be able to help me with this one.

I need to use iBlogPro4 for a client (although I have the Framework and pretty much every other Pagelines product)

I also need to create 3 different pages that only display the 3 main blog category posts. This is of course easily done with the Framework but not with iBlogPro4 on it's own.

Another reason why I need this in a page is so I can add banners and sections etc to the page that display the cats, which isn't doable, as far I know, for the normal blog categories.

My question is thus:

1) can I somehow run the iBlogPro4 theme on the Framework (as I can't change to iBlogPro5 - our agency is using that theme)

2) is there a way that I could display the category posts on a page in iBlogPro4?

or is there any other suggestions?

You don't know how much I appreciate any assistance, so thank you in advance.

PS: I've looked at all the free WordPress plugins that claim to display cat posts i pages by thy complete strip the css and looks very basic. I need to have it displayed and looked like with iBlogPro4

    No, iBlogPro4 cannot run on Framework. It's a legacy theme that can only run on its own.
  2. is there a way that I could display the category posts on a page in iBlogPro4? or is there any other suggestions?
    WordPress automatically generates category pages for posts that belong to a specific category, but I can't think of a way for category posts to be added to a page unless you use some kind of shortcode that displays these posts. If you're looking into this level of customization, it is best to contact a Pro: http://pagelines.com/pros

      I'm using iBlogPro4 with WPJobBoard plugin.
       
      The theme is not displaying <legend> tags in <fieldsets>.
       
      However, it works fine with twentythirteen theme.
       
      Help!!!

      Feature Design Style Problem - iBlogPro5 5.2.5 + Framework 2.4.1

      Recent project: migrating my site from iBlogPro4 to Framework 2.4.1 + iBlogPro5 5.2.5 Problem subject: feature design style    some voodoo ist happening here I cannot explain or control. Developing site on localhost created with DesktopServer on my MacPro produces white fonts on black canvas for the default style. (see scrrenshot 001) so far so good.     I'm also having access to the localhost via local network with my MacbooPro and an IP, that DesktopServer gives me. First I saw the exact design as with the MacPro, but then after some hours and refreshing my browser, I suddenly saw this beautiful design with white font on grey canvas + rounded corners, that looked simply perfect for iBlogPro5 style. (screenshot 002) … that's how I want it to look like.     But: The MacPro, where everything  is hosted, on its own display and also over remote screen control,  still shows the white on black feature design, no matter what I do!   I didn't work with framework before – even though I did the translation into German      –, but it seems to me like the white on black feature design is framework pure and white one grey + rounded edges is the iBlogPro5 child theme design for features.   when I activate framework in themes and then back again to iBlogPro5 or …when I change anything in Layout …  white on black feature design is back again on both computers … an maybe after some hours of not doing anything … like last night … the »nice« design comes back on the MacbookPro. Voodoo   Refreshing the browser always gives a short glimpse of the screenshot 002 design … but the white on black version then immediately jumps in and takes the place.    Any suggestions?

      Anything Boxes And Polylang Language Filtering Problem

      Over the last month I had extensive communications with the developer of the (premium) Anything Boxes section (in Pagelines store) (Adam Munns) and the developer of the WP Polylang Multilingual plugin (Frederic Demarle).
       
      This was because the following problem occurred:
      Anything Boxes showed all posts of two languages (Dutch and English) on the respective static frontpages for each language. It should of course have filtered posts for Dutch language on the Dutch frontpage and English on the English frontpage.
       
      The solution to this problem was simple in the end. When duplicating a page for use in another language the settings for Anything Boxes were not copied to the new page and I should have set these settings manually again on the new page. I wasn't aware of this, but it makes sense. Because of this the pages didn't know how to differentiate between posts from different languages.
       
      The dev of Polylang told me that Polylang is currently smart enough to synchronize metas like Featured images and page templates but it does not work out of the box with metas created by plugins and themes but (according to Frederic) it is rather easy to add them in the list using the filter 'pll_copy_post_metas'.
      He mentions that he is not sure that these 'PageLines Meta Settings' are stored in post meta but that would make sense according to him. He asks if the Pagelines dev team will be interested to support this feature in the future.
       
      I'm also wondering if you will consider adding Polylang translation support for manually editable strings like the 'Read more…' strings in Pagelines Settings.
       
      Well that's of course up to you but I thought to let you know to be able to take this into consideration. I also post this for other users in case they experience the same kind of trouble and are looking for an answer.
