locked out of live chat

hey folks,

for some reason I'm always taken to the campfire log-in page whenever I try to access live chat. I was told not to use that log-in, it never works anyway, but I can't figure out how to get into live chat directly, even when i'm already logged in. Don't know what happened, it used to be a no brainer to get into live-chat. Hope I'm not supposed to allow cookies and pop-ups in my browser. I get so sick of that noise...

I think it does require cookies and pop-ups.

Try accessing it directly via http://www.pagelines...om/live

where you can click to login then use your launchpad credentials.

It always works for me.

Hmmm...strangely, even after entering PageLines.com as an exception in Chrome pop-up and cookie settings, the above link returns a 404 page for me. Now I'm not sure what could have changed, I only saw that campfire log-in recently. Before that, I could always jump into Live Chat from the link in the forum. Now anywhere I try to link in, I get sent to a campfire log-in page even if I'm already logged into Forum or PageLines.com. Crumb!

Same problem here..I'm a new user and cant get to the live chat (safari) entering username and pass results in it asking for the same thing again... very disappointing indeed as I needed some help with an issue !

Interestingly also if i ask for a password reset (though i was using the correct one ) same thing happens...

404 for me as well on the above link....

any ideas?

My case isn't resolved. I'm still not able to log into Live Chat despite using my correct log-in credentials, the sign-in interface is messed up. You guys changed something and now all sign-in is funneled to a campfire sign-in area. I've explained this problem repeatedly. I was told not to use the campfire log-in, that it's unrelated to the Pagelines site, so what thehell is it? Why am I always re-directed there? Not only is this a problem that needs to be fixed, it's also a creepy situation. I've seen phishing ploys that work very similarly in extracting passcodes from Skype users. PageLines really needs to fix this!

I'm really getting convinced by this situation that I should probably quit my Plus subscription. Bummer...

Wren there is no phishing going on here.

Basically it works like this:

Your launchpad username and password ( same as for this forum ) give you access to this page: http://www.pagelines.com/live/

On that page all users are 'guests' You should just see a box asking for a username to use in the room.

If you see a username and password box then clear your cookies as you tried to login as an admin,

Thanks for the speedy reply. Do you mean I should always log out of my admin mode while working on my site to log-in as a guest at Live? The guest sign-in always reroutes me to the campfire dead end. I'm using Chrome, do you know if there's a way to clear cookies since today's startup, without killing all my other web passwords universally?

No your not following, in wp-admin, if thats where your accessing it, log in under account as normal, then you should see the image i posted above in the live tab.

there you just pick a random username. If it shows a username and password box then your only option is to clear your cache, or use another browser.

OK, I dragged up the old slowpoke dog, Firefox, slogged through and finally got in to LIve using your link. Jeez, I wish a simple restart in Chrome would let me get in as easily as I used to be able to--horrible having to start Firefox for anything, sad I am to say it. Will try to learn how to clear Chrome cache on some other rainy day.

      Anything Boxes And Polylang Language Filtering Problem

      Over the last month I had extensive communications with the developer of the (premium) Anything Boxes section (in Pagelines store) (Adam Munns) and the developer of the WP Polylang Multilingual plugin (Frederic Demarle).
       
      This was because the following problem occurred:
      Anything Boxes showed all posts of two languages (Dutch and English) on the respective static frontpages for each language. It should of course have filtered posts for Dutch language on the Dutch frontpage and English on the English frontpage.
       
      The solution to this problem was simple in the end. When duplicating a page for use in another language the settings for Anything Boxes were not copied to the new page and I should have set these settings manually again on the new page. I wasn't aware of this, but it makes sense. Because of this the pages didn't know how to differentiate between posts from different languages.
       
      The dev of Polylang told me that Polylang is currently smart enough to synchronize metas like Featured images and page templates but it does not work out of the box with metas created by plugins and themes but (according to Frederic) it is rather easy to add them in the list using the filter 'pll_copy_post_metas'.
      He mentions that he is not sure that these 'PageLines Meta Settings' are stored in post meta but that would make sense according to him. He asks if the Pagelines dev team will be interested to support this feature in the future.
       
      I'm also wondering if you will consider adding Polylang translation support for manually editable strings like the 'Read more…' strings in Pagelines Settings.
       
      Well that's of course up to you but I thought to let you know to be able to take this into consideration. I also post this for other users in case they experience the same kind of trouble and are looking for an answer.

      When I insert the following code:
