Header Font Color Change?

Hey folks, I am brand new to building a site, so I do appreciate your patience. I'm trying to change the color and font of my header at the site I'm building. I've tried changing the "Text Heading Color" in Display Options, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I'm missing something. (I think I'm going to use hex code #ff3300) Thanks
