How to Choose "Blog" as a template like you choose the others

Recommended Posts

I want to have a blog tab on my site but I am not sure how to select it like I can select category and other default templates. When you post, there isn't a blog option as a category. Please help.

Hi iboogy

Create a new blank page titled 'Blog', then set 'Blog' as the 'Posts page:' in

Admin > Settings > Reading

and set Static Page > Post Page : Blog

Batman is essentially correct. The Blog page template is only applicable to the blog pages or pages which are dynamically created containing blog entries. You really cannot 'select' it as you can Default or Templates 1 to 5 or a Custom Template. Select templates built into the Framework are prestructured for specific functionality which can't be modified too much. Yes, you can add and subtract extra elements, but the basics should remain, including Post Loop.

If you create a new default blog page, the Blog template is automatically applied, no matter what you ultimately select in the new page, making sure the blog entries are applied to that page.
