Hi Marlene
You can add an action for add a button with other link
Some comment give the action: 'pagelines_branding_icons_start'or 'pagelines_branding_icons_end'
You can find at
http://api.pagelines.com/hooks
You can see this links to begin:
http://www.pagelines...ustomize_Plugin
http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API

For example

Then you can disable the default rss

I'd have to agree with Batman in this as the change of the URL is a core process so a hook is essential. If you were to edit a core file, we'd overwrite it with the next update and you'd be quite upset. The hook ensures that the change remains in place.

Or, you could be awesome like me and use the filter we already supplied:

add_filter( 'pagelines_branding_rssurl', create_function('', 'return "http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheBlogOfPross";') );

Hello, can someone dumb this down for me. I don't know much (anything) about coding, but I would like to change the RSS URL. I've been stuying this post and reading the links that have been provided and I don't have a clear idea on how to accomplish this. My interpretation of including a hook is that I would need to make a plugin first, but that's way over my head.

Is there somthing you can walk me through? Is adding the filter that Simon_P is talking about somthing you can walk me through?

If you have the PageLines Customize plugin installed and activated, copy Simon's code from above.

Go to Dashboard > Plugins > Editor.

You'll see a drop down list -- select PageLines Customize and go.

Once there, select the functions.php file from the files on the right column.  It will open.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page till you're on a new line.

Paste Simon's code, then save.

If Simon's code doesn't work, do exactly the same thing with Batman's code, but don't forget to remove Simon's first.

NOTE:  If you have a cache plugin activated, after implementing changes to functions.php, clear the plugin's cache or you'll never see anything working.

Rob, thanks for the advise. Both Simon_P and Batman's solutions worked, but I chose to use Simon's because I did not need to change the icon.

Thanks again for telling me about the PageLines Customize plugin, it's very useful.

Some parts of this topic are very useful.  For instance, I've pasted Simon's code into the correct file.  The rest is not so easy to follow.  After pasting and saving Simon's code (which is all I've done) I'd love alist of clear steps to follow regarding changing the rss url to that of my blog rather than static home page.  Thx

Went through the above with Peggy in live chat :-)

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.
