Post-pins SLOW scrolling

Recommended Posts

je4light

I am using post-pins to generate my blogroll into a nice looking pinterest-style feed. THe problem is when the page loads it is extremely slow and choppy to scroll. I have tested the post-pins on several other pages and it has the same effect. Can anyone help me find a solution? I like the way this looks I just don't like how slow it feels when it loads and a user tries to scroll.

Hi, OK, basically your issue is that your images are insanely HUGE! Here is an example of three of them, http://www.projectdehradun.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_9834-e1346054450191.jpg http://www.projectdehradun.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Eyes-Closed-Hands-Out-Kiran-Matt-and-Class.jpg http://www.projectdehradun.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/New-Delhi-Street-e1346054494985.jpg Everyone one of your images are over 1MB which is the cause of the issue. You need to optimise and compress images. You want to aim to have your images no larger than 400kb if possible. You can do this by using an application such as Adobe PhotoShop or GIMP. There are also tools such as JpegMini.
