Clash between Pagelines & Ajax Event Calendar Plugin

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've been working on this site for a school and want to use the Ajax Event Calendar plugin. However, there seems to be a clash somewhere between as part of the functionality of the plugin is lost. The calendar displays but the events don't 'pop-up' when clicked on. This plugin works fine on all the other themes I've tested and some of the other forums I've visited seem to flag up the same issue. I'm not sure if this is your issue to sort out, but I think it's worth flagging this up here anyway and if there is a fix you guys can do, then please do let the community know. From what I've picked up on, the issue might be a jQuery one, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Thanks anyways, Stu

Hi Stu, I will test the plugin and if there is indeed a conflict I will report to our developers. However, would it be possible for you to disable all other plugins except for PageLines plugins and the Ajax Event Calendar Plugin, so we can rule out that another plugin is causing the conflict.

Hi I'm trying to use the Ajax event calendar on my site. It used to work but for some reason does not work anymore.

I've tried disabling all plug-ins

I'm using page lines framework 2.3

the calendar is at sd50.bc.ca when you click on the event there should be a drop-down of what the event is but all you get is a black screen

I was afraid of this. Please see: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ajax-event-calendar/

If you look on the right, this product is in version 1.0.2 and hasn't been updated since WP 3.3.2. The developer hasn't done anything with it since March 27.

Deprecated plugins are the bane of a WP admin's existence. The developers give up or lose interest and your site goes funky with the next WP update.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do except to urge you to find a replacement that's compatible with the current version of WP and well maintained.

Hi,

First, did you upgrade to 2.4? Did you also upgrade WordPress? There was another update today to 3.5.1.

Could you explain what's going on with your site? It may be different from others, since this topic wasn't yours originally.

I have searched lots of forums and for our site: http://business.louisville.edu/events

The details don't show up when you click an event. We have input dates through May. I really dont' want to switch to another calendar if possible.

Strangely on the admin side - it works perfectly.  When inputing events sometimes I click one already entered to edit them and the screen dims and a dropdown with event details appears.

But on the user side - it appears it's trying to do the same thing - screen dims - but nothing.  I looked at the PHP (Not knowing PHP) and I have adjusted the CSS for the "#aec-modal-container" and various other things.

I need this to work.  I am too invested in pagelines to switch and
have turned off all plugins. (turned back on ones I cannot live
without.)

it appears so close to working.  Any ideas anyone??

I looked and need to upgrade to 2.4.   I will let you know if it works to solve the issue. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi,

I have exactly the same issue very well and precisely described here.

The same subject was recently raised in this PL topic: http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/24248-pagelines-and-ajax-event-calendar-conflict/ and in parallel in several threads in the plugin support forum, with unfortunately no answer, e.g.: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/clash-between-pagelines-ajax-event-calendar-plugin?replies=1.

As for me I upgraded to WP 3.5.1 + Pagelines 2.4. + Ajax Event Calendar 1.0.4 & I confirm that there are no plugin conflicts + no issue with dozens of other themes except Pagelines.

Did anyone manage to solve this issue ? This events plugin is really one of the best I ever saw: too bad we cannot use it :(

Hi there, I've checked the bug report and can confirm its still on there at the moment, no updates on the notes on there though. Any fix will probably be included within the next Pagelines update and will be shown on the changelog.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.
