Can you add a Crackbar User Defined option for transparency?

Recommended Posts

Option 1: Can you update the plugin so that there's a checkbox or number to enter to define the transparency amount? Option 2: Or, could you please provide the .pl-color-user custom CSS for turning the User Defined options into the transparency options?

Sup Cliff! Yeah see the current issue is that the Color Picker contained within the framework, returns a hex value, but to run transparency it needs an rgba. I'll visit with Simon at some point and see if there's some hidden gem I don't know about. We *could* run our own color pickers, but wouldn't look native to teh framework. Nick

Sup Beard! I figured. Here's my follow-up: - I'd rather have a bit of a clunky back-end than have to custom code in child theme (like the last resort for anything). in other words, I don't care if it looks native (although I'm not 100% sure what I'm really saying, lol. Do you have an example of something else that doesn't look native?) I'd rather have options than have to "resort" to child theming. - Idea: maybe you can allow for color picking (hex) and convert to RGB (Simon or someone) and then have an "A" option (transparency) of 0.0 - 1.0. Then it converts it all to RGBA. That sounds hard (maybe not for the likes of Simon). - I'd be just as happy to have some sort of copy/paste (like Sexy Snips) for a DIY in the child theme. Basically, if you want to make these settings in child theme, here are the instructions: 1) in the style.css (or should it be style.less?) 2) paste this code 3) and edit as you wish -basically providing the full CSS for the option selected above (non-user defined option) -so if I copied and pasted and didn't change anything, it'd just be the black transparent that you've already built. (or whichever pre-made one that I selected to 'generate' the copy/paste code snippet) I hope all that makes sense, and I look forward to your future awesomeness. So, question for right now: can you please give me some copy/paste code to get me going and tell me if it belongs in style.css/.less? I looked in the plugin's code and wasn't sure how much of it to copy/paste to do the full customization overrides. Thanks!

I hope my response is useful. The transparency attribute you're looking for is here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_image_transparency.asp. The selector for Crackbar can be found using Firebug (as explained here: http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/Custom_CSS)

I don't think Nick has been on yet but when he pops up I'll forward this link to him.
