Customizing content of Feature Slider excerpt, headline, etc.

Is it possible to add some additional data to the headline and excerpt that shows on the Feature Slider? I'd like to add the post date (and control its format) and the categories.

Add the following to the first line of your slide excerpt:

By [post_author_posts_link] · [post_date] · [post_categories]

If you're looking to do this dynamically, you'll have to edit the Features Section, using Base Theme, including that code in the section.php.

Thank you. Yes, my Feature Slider is dynamic. So I basically have to create a new Feature Section and then customize it for my needs? Copy out its code, paste it into the Base Theme section.php file, and customize?

Hi Grant, To do this, you will need to customise the Features section by creating a child section of the Features. If you require assistance with this, I recommend you contact one of our Pros. http://www.pagelines.com/pros/

There is a supplementary doc that can help you (it doesn't describe how to customize the content in the feature slider, but it goes over how to set up the section so that it can be customized): http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/How_to_Use_the_Base_Theme (most notably, the last segment of the page: Customize Core Sections Using the Base Theme) For further reference, you may want to check this out, too: http://www.w3schools.com/

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
