Jigoshop Menusand basic shop set up.

Recommended Posts

I've just installed jogoshop and performed all the steps in the jigoshop integration document asigning the pages created to a different template (template1) I've created a menu the same as shown in the document. The menu doesn't show up on my site. How do I get to have shop show up in the main menu on my site and then when I click on that the new template open with the shop menu? Can't see any reference on Jigoshop or Pagelines site. Documentation about "How to set up a basic shop" appears to be completely lacking, are we supposed to do this by trial and error from the outset? Not happy at present.

Hi Alan, I apologise but I am not quite what sure what you're referring to. Are you saying that your shop menu item is not displaying in your websites menu ? If this is correct, you need to set up a Wordpress Custom Menu and then add your shop page to your custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ Regarding the documentation on "How to set up a basic shop", JigoShop is not our product and therefore, we can not provide any support in setting up your shop. For this kind of information and assistance, you will need to ask this question on the JigoShop forum or contact their support. http://jigoshop.com/support/ http://forum.jigoshop.com/

I have set up a custom menu called Shop as per the PL Jigoshop Integration doc. My site is set up using the Default template and I'm using the Classic menu option for the Nav Bar. I only want the word shop to appear as a menu item as part of the Nav Bar. When I click on shop I want the shop to launch using a separate theme "template 2" in PL set up. (all the shop pages are designated template 2) At the moment I seem to have all the ingredients but the shop doesn't display.

Can you provide a live link? That would help immensely in our ability to assist with this issue.

Hi, As your site is locally hosted, would it be possible for you to install a free application called Jing and use Jing to record your issue. Then provide us with a link to the recording, so we can take a closer look, as I don't quite understand what your issue is. http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html

Hi I'm away on holiday from tomorrow for a couple of weeks so will attend to this when I get back. Is there any way to attach screen shots to these comments?

Before I go away I've found this. http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/20004/use-a-custom-menu-as-secondary-nav/p1 This post describes the same problem I'm having..I see this wasn't answered. In short.. I have added the shop page to my Primary Website Nav (Classic) Menu and it shows up on the site OK. When I click shop the shop page opens ok. I have created a menu called shop. Appearance/menus/ just the same as described in Pagelines Jigoshop Integration Doc. On the shop page meta under "Select Secondary Nav Menu" I have set to show shop menu as secondary nav. but it doesn't appear on the shop page. I saved meta settings. Am I missing something here?

Some Jigoshop pages use an actual page while others are created dynamically (and have no physical page to edit). Make sure the secondary nav menu is set on the jigoshop pages themselves (look in WP -> Pages) as well as in the product archives section in PageLines -> Page Options. You have 2 places to set the secondary menu when using Jigoshop.
