joelle 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 I am just getting started setting up a new site using StationPro, but I'm having some trouble activating the plug-ins... It seems to upload and install smoothly, but when I try to activate, it tells me that there is no valid header. What am I missing??

jnoh 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 joelle, just to make sure. 1. you zipped each of the plugins provided with our theme 2. you uploaded these via wordpress' plugin upload feature 3. everything installed properly 4. when you activate any of them, there is no valid header? do you think you can show us a screenshot of the plugins page and the error message? joelle 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Yes, I zipped them, uploaded them through wordpress plugins, and they appear to have installed correctly. I'm still relatively new to wordpress, but have made a couple other sites without running into this problem. Very possible I'm missing something simple. joelle 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Most of the plugins give me this error message (The screen shot I posted above was actually different for the wp-pagenavi plugin, it only said that activation failed):
Andrew 207 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 That's a strange one... Could you try deactivating all your 'other' plugins and then do this again? I haven't run into this before.
jnoh 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Try this: Delete these plugins. Search, find and install these plugins through the wordpress admin screen (plugins >> add new). Activate them once installed.
jc 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 I had the exact problem with installing the plugins. After reading this post I tried to ZIP each plugin file one at a time. Then install into my WordPress site. It worked very well! * My first attempt was to ZIP the complete plugin file to upload, I received the error listed above. Go back and ZIP each plugin file then upload. It should work well! Enjoy, JC
joelle 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 Thanks for all your help -- sorry for my slow reply. I tried deleting all plugins and installing them again... I even started a brand new wordpress installation, but it has the same problem. All the plugin files zipped separately and I'm uploading one at a time. Any ideas?? Andrew 207 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 Are you uploading 'zipped' files? Or are you using FTP to upload?
joelle 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 I'm uploading the zipped files through Wordpress, not FTP.
Andrew 207 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 can you try FTP? I'm thinking its related.
joelle 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2009 Ok, after uploading by FTP, activation worked just fine... (sheesh!). Thank you!!!
jerrypoynter 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2010 Iv tried everything and im still getting the same message. Joelle posted a year ago and you dont have any other issues with these plugins. Yes im new but come on seriously.
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted December 24, 2010 The very best way to add a plugin is to go to: Plugins > Add New then search, install and activate. Please note that plugins aren't always stable, based on how well they're made and how often they're updated. Thanks, Bryan
