Problem activating Mud child theme

Recommended Posts

steveandrews

I'm interested in creating my old child theme for Pagelines (I own the Framework) so I thought I'd check out the Mud theme for reference. When I install and activate the Mud theme, it looks nothing like it's meant to: http://theme.600north.co.uk/ Am I missing something here or doing something wrong? Thanks in advance, Steve

Hi Steve, You need to read through the Dashboard Welcome screen, it has instructions there on how to get MUD looking it does on the demo.

Please search our forums, before posting!

Thanks Danny but I've already tried that. I've imported the settings from the welcome page but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Hey Steve, Did you create a default home page and install the gallery as well? There's a couple of things you gotta set up to achieve the exact same look, but it should be do-able. Additionally, are you doing this on a clean install or not?

Hi Stefan. I've created a homepage and installed the gallery. I think I've discovered the issue though - the style.css file that you get when you download the theme has no styling in it, only the comments below. /* Theme Name: MUD Theme URI: http://demo.pagelines.com/mud Description: A custom child theme with Swiss appeal. Version: 1.0 Author: PageLines Author URI: http://pagelines.com Demo: http://demo.pagelines.com/mud Template: pagelines */

No thats right, all the css is in the LESS file. Thats where the magic happens.

Ok, but that 'magic' still isn't appearing on my site.

Thank Simon. I'd almost done that - just forgot to unzip the DAT file. I didn't get an error when I imported the zipped DAT so didn't realise until now. My site now has the correct layout and colours. Thanks folks :-)

Hi Simon, Tried to upload the DAT file and it says ; You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. I am a pagelines plus member. Anything that i missed?
