Where is the highlight box on the site and how was the highlight added to a template (also, which one)?

um. It 's throughout the site - added using the meta settings (added in category and site default) - added in into the header section under 'drag and drop '.

http://imgur.com/ucDUb Please look at the highlight pictures. See the text to the right. The client would like to be able to update that so I'd like the highlight header text to overlay on TOP of the highlight image. Get it? A feature doesn't work because it doesn't extend to the end of the page.

Try this code... it would require positioning the text with additional CSS.
#featured-content { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #191970; color: #E9E9E9; margin: 0 auto; overflow: hidden; width: 100%; }
I'm sorry. I was rushed by a call from Italy and forgot to say... You mentioned
I need a fullwidth image that allows for changing of text
You can use the feature slider to go full width, and apply text over that as you wish. That was the code I provided... to give you full width of the slider.
