iBlogPro5 Navigation Menue does not load

Recommended Posts

Before migrating my iBlogPro4 Site I am now testing iBlogPro5 5.1.3 with Framework 2.2.2 on a localhost. Everything seems fine, but only the Navigation-Menue seems not to load iBlog5-Navigation-Style. It looks like the default Design of Framework. Whats wrong?

I am looking at your site and the menu appears as it should. Are you referring to the glossy style menu?

You cannot see this on the live-website! It's IBlogPro4. I am testing the designs of iBlogPro5 + new WP 3.4.1. etc. on a localhost first before migrating, as I said. Yes I mean the glossy style menue. Would love to see it. But Menue appears just as: black with white font. Submenues come in blackframed white with black font. The glossy .png's for the Menue reside in the image-folder of iblogPro5 childtheme installation in WP.

This seems to be a re-occurring issue on the theme and I'm not sure why it's happening. I'll need to forward this to the developers so they can check it out.

Thank you for the info Catrina! I gave new Framework 2.2.3 a try plus a fresh install of an english version of WP 3.4.1 to be shure that foreign language doesnt cause a problem. Sad to tell, but iBlogPro5 still doesnt load the glossy menue. So I'm waiting for developers help.

Go to Dashboard > PageLines > Drag & Drop and replace the current Nav menu in your header with NavClassic. iBlogPro5 styles the NavClassic, but PageLines 2.2.x uses the Bootstrap menu by default. Once you swap them, your menu should have the glossy effect you're seeking.

Now the fun seems to start: Using classic NavClassic loaded the glossy menue - great-, but I had to use custom code:
.main_nav li a { line-height: 19px !important; }
found in another thread to get it right. This was only necessary in the fresh install of WP + Framework + iBlogPro5. My imported Blog from my Live-Site, that I'm testing locally - also newest versions of WP, Framework + iBlogPro5 - doesnt need the custom code for displaying proper line-hight. But in any case - switching to ?»Blog?« (only this menue item) in the Navbar changes all Menue-Fonts to a hairpin-Look - (but only in Safari + Chrome. Firefox is fine). Isn't that funny? Also I have inverted main-menues if I click on a sub-menue (all browsers). Sub-Menues are hard to click, cause they often jump away, before I can grab them (Safari + Chrome only. Again Firefox is fine). My god, what a box of issues. I am so happy to have a running blog with iBlogPro4. What happened to that great theme as a child-theme? It seems to have grown backwards from an adult to a child in some points. Sorry to say this. But I'm sure in the end everything is goin to work like charme.

Yes, Catrina, This was a cry for help! I would love to have consistent appearance of the menues in all browsers, not only firefox plus no inverted fonts in main-navigation, when hitting sub-navigation. This is too much woodoo for me. I'm a musician, not a pro-developer. Loading a child-theme should set default settings in the pagelines dashboard to appropriate values. So no further assistance should be needed to let it shine in full beauty. Customization is something different.

After playing with different versions of the Framework: Framework 2.0.1 shows none of the described problems with the menuebar in my browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox)! 2.1.6 introduces first irregularities and 2.2.4 is the worst case. By the way, in 2.2.4 the line-height problem seems to go away once you create sub-nav menues. If you don't, you have to put in the customcode from above. So please make the new Framework-Versions compatible to the lovely iBlogPro5-Theme! Just to give you an idea, have a look at the inverted-blog-menue in your own demo: http://demo.pagelines.com/iblogpro5/blog/welcoome-to-platformpro/

Hey there, We're sorry for any inconveniences created. The issue with the Nav Bar Classic in iBP5 has been noted and the developers are working on a fix! :)
