Feature Slider Images suddenly not showing

After a recent update to my site, I noticed that the featured images are now longer showing site wide, which is a problem because I use it on every page of my site. If I inspect the code, you can see the image path is set as the background-image, but they do not display. I'm not seeing any errors either. Any ideas on where to start with this one? I tried upgrading to 2.2.2, but that didn't seem to help.

This problem is immediately obvious on the home page, and probably the best place to start, but you can really see it on any page.

Hi, I have just visited your website (awesome design by the way) and the feature sliders are working as intended. Did you resolve the issue ?

yes... and no... For some reason, if you set an image as a background image, it will not show, what I had to end up doing, as creating a div in the HTML section, setting the image as the background image of the div, and setting the HTML to "full width". It's a workaround, but pretty tedious. I'm in the process of doing this to all the features on my site, because I'm extracting text we had as an image to HTML text for SEO purposes. I appreciate you taking a look, it'd be nice if there was a quick fix to use just the image upload field with the image as a full background without having to use the HTML area. So this is bizarre... I just started hitting the site again today... and the images are back Can't explain it, but it seems to be working again (even without my HTML area hack)

Well, we're happy it's back. I guess it's one of those little mysteries in life and the Web.
