category page shows blank

Recommended Posts

Hello, I started with pagelines recently and still some concepts I don't understand. I have two problems: 1. I have added a category page to my menu, but the page shows completely blank, I can't figure out why. 2. The second problem is the special pages, for example the blog - how do i show certain posts in the blog, do i create a blog category or something. Please, if anyone can help me will be great. Thanks a lot Bilyana

1. Category pages are created dynamically and will remain blank till posts are created that use the category. If you want a static category page with a list of blog posts, you can use a plugin to display the list. Normally category pages are created simply by creating the category. 2. The Blog page is created statically, but must be added to the settings via Dashboard > Settings > Reading (bottom left of your Dashboard) and selected from the 2nd drop down list under Static pages. To break that up by category, again you need to be creative and use plugins. I suggest using boxes (one for each category) and Special Recent Posts (a recommended plugin) inside the box set by category, to display the post(s) in that category. The static blog page MUST BE ABSOLUTELY BLANK, with only template added elements. No text whatsoever may be entered into the content editing area for posts to show.
