pratsha45 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2010 I just purchased whitehousePro, had it under my 'documents' screen as saved onto the computer, and after successfully loading it onto my "add new themes" area of my wordpress account I pressed the "activate" button. I now have an all-white page in my browser that reads the following: Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_nav_menus() in D:Hosting6196734htmlwp-contentthemesWhiteHouseProconfigconfig_sidebars.php on line 19 I can't even push the "go back" button because I don't have the dashboard or anything from Wordpress available anymore. How do I solve this and get my site back up as soon as possible?
legisstrat 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 It's interesting, I have had the same thing happen. I got into an email exchange with the Pagelines moderator, Bryan. I was on technical support with Go Daddy for a long time. The tech support guy says the problem is with the WhiteHousePro file, but of course, Pagelines says it could be a server, or upload, blah blah blah. I will wait to see if Pagelines makes good on its user agreement that it will fix any problem. So far, no response from Pagelines tech support other than a brief email exchange with Bryan, the moderator here.
cmunns 16 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Hey you guys. The "fatal error" is because the newest versions of the themes require WordPress 3.0 The first step would be to remove the theme via ftp so you can log back into your admin panel. Then if possible I would upgrade. If you can't I'll work on getting the themes backwards compatible. Let me know if there are any other issues.
pratsha45 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Thanks for the tip. I just removed the files for whitehousePro, put them in the recycle bin, and restarted my comuter. When I went to my admin panel in wordpress, the exact same message appears as before. What should my next step be so I can get my site back up again?
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 You should note that there isn't anything wrong with the template itself, it's the environment. The themes are constantly updated to stay coordinated with WordPress updates, WordPress just a month or two ago had a major release (3.0). A few options; 1. Completely delete the WhiteHousePro theme folder out of your /themes/ folder, you should now be able to access the admin. Upgrade to WordPress 3.0 (if possible) and then try re-installing the theme. 2. Let us know what version of WordPress you're working with, and perhaps the developers can provide the latest version of the theme that works with that version or wait for a possible backwards compatibility patch. 3. Completely delete the WhiteHousePro theme folder out of your /themes/ folder and then re-activate your old theme. Thanks, Bryan
pratsha45 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Ok, I've completely removed everything having to do with WhiteHousePro from my computer. I still cannot access the admin panel and the same message is still appearing....I called my hosting support and they said that they were unable to help, but my site is still down. pratsha45 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Problem solved. I removed every WhiteHousePro file (didn't work) Then I went to my hosting company and had them remove all wordpress applications from my account, freeing it up, and now it's fixed. Thank you. smckenney 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 This is kinda funny when you read it. User deletes files from "COMPUTER" not "SERVER" and saw no change on the "SERVER." Oh to be young again!
