steveandrews 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 How do I display my sites tagline that I've set under the Wordpress General setting on my site? Thanks in advance, Steve
Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 Hi Steven, When you upload a logo image, this image replaces the Wordpress site name and tagline. If you wish to use your sites name and tagline, simply remove your logo. However, if you wish to use your logo and have your tagline visible, the best thing to do would be to edit your logo image so that your tagline is on the image also. steveandrews 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks for the response Danny. I was hoping to achieve it without using a single image for the tagline and logo. The tagline will be on the opposite side of the screen from the logo so I'd have quite a large image, plus it wouldn't wrap on mobiles. Are there any other solutions? Rob 547 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 Yes. Use a hook to include text on the right side opposite the branding (logo). Formatted text will be much more effective than another image as the search engines will read it. They don't read text in graphics. Let us know if you need direction to the instructions for hooks (in the Wiki). Former PageLines Moderator, Food Expert and Raconteur
steveandrews 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 I haven't worked with hooks before so any help or direction on using them would be great.
Jenny 33 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 Hooks are a way of inserting custom content through the PageLines Customize Plugin or the Base Child Theme so that you don??™t have to edit the original template files. This keeps your custom changes safe from core updates. Here is some documentation on hooks from our Wiki: http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/PageLines_Themes To learn more about hooks & how to use them, visit http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API A list of all the hooks is here: http://api.pagelines.com/hooks/ ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up.
