How to make the fixed navbar stay fixed

Recommended Posts

chules

I am working on a site at http://108.166.90.150/. I have the fixed navbar set and displaying at the top of the site. However, if you scroll down a page the fixed navbar scrolls as well. I wish this fixed navbar to not move and just stay fixed to the top of the site without moving. Thank you - chules

Hi, Try
.section-navbar.fixed-top { position: relative; }
or position: absolute.

The fixed navbar, is fixed by default. There is no additional code needed to make it work. NIck

Hi , @ Nick: I think he meant stopping the navbar from displaying at the top of the page when scrolling down (it stays like a banner over the top of the page even if you're at the footer area). @chules: Did the code do it for you? If yes, please accept the answer so moderators know the issue has been resolved. Thank you.

This does make the navbar stay fixed but it creates a white block at the top of the site pushing everything down. What I'm trying to do is keep it locked in the position it is now and just prevent the scrolling. thank you - chules

Ahh, so static! Sorry I misunderstood. Yeah in that case position:static would work well. For the white background, just give it a background color and it'll likely work for you. http://screencast.com/t/qn3AkRdxq46p BTW, color:none is not semantically correct. It's actually not even doing anything atm. ;) Nick
