togglescratch 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2012 Hello, I am trying to add a widget from Amazon, called "My Favorites" in my sidebar area. I tried pasting the code provided by Amazon into various different sidebars using the "text" widget, but the sidebars just appeared blank. When I add a title, that will show up fine, but nothing else will show. Then I installed the "WordPress Amazon Associate" collection of widgets from MDBitz, but I couldn't get those to work either. Has anyone successfully added this "My Favorites" feature from Amazon? How did you do it? Thank you, Corey

togglescratch 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2012 Sure thing, Danny. Thanks for looking into it. I understand that some of the code is Java and some is HTML. Could that be the source of the problem (the Java)? Amazon.com Widgets
Rob 547 Report post Posted June 14, 2012 The code provided above is from Amazon.com, but was that supposed to be the sidebar I'm seeing on your homepage? When you said "My Favorites" did you mean an Amazon widget directly from the Associates section of Amazon.com? If so, was the code specific for WordPress? They have that available for all their widgets. If your browser has Java turned off, then yes, it could be an issue. Mine is on and I do see a grey backed widget titled "Get Started Sampling". togglescratch 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2012 Yes, I got it working now. I removed every other sidebar, except for the universal sidebar, and pasted the code from Amazon in there, and that seems to work. I appreciate the help. ranelone, did I read correctly that Amazon will supply code that is specifically for WordPress, meaning this code is different from the code they will give you to paste into non-WP sites? If that is true, I'd love for you to expound on that - how do I get it, etc. Thanks.
catrina 103 Report post Posted June 15, 2012 I don't know about Amazon supplying code specifically for WordPress, but you may want to look around the web and see if there's any mention of it.
