Remove Categores from homepage

I have tried all the css codes to remove the categories from my site, especially the homepage. Can someone please help me to remove it? Thanks!

sure. On my homepage, there is a grid of photos on the left side. Underneath that there is "Categories" header with a "Food" category. I want to remove that since i do not want to put my blog posts in categories. A lot of the forums say that this is default for Wordpress and gave me css codes to add to the custom code option. I have spent a lot of tim trying to figure out how to unselect this option in Pagelines, but do not see how to do it. Does this help? http://www.lawrencekarol.com/

Hi, The Categories header with Food, is a widget, therefore simply go to Appearance > Widgets and remove the widget. From the looks of it, this widget is in the Primary Sidebar.
