I don't see my footer. Where could it have gone? Should have a logo and copyright but it's not there. Do I need to put anything special in the templates to make it show up? thanks, Jeff

Jeff, there are several options. Are you per chance referring to a custom watermark or the actual footer (up to 6 columns)? First, check the static page's PageLines Meta Settings to make sure the footer isn't Hidden. If it is, uncheck "Hide Footer". If not... Second, check Dashboard > PageLines > Templates and make sure the footer is present. Third, if you meant the watermark, go to Dashboard > PageLines > Website Setup and scroll down to the watermark area. if checked, uncheck it. Let us know if one of these work.

Hi,

I know this an ancient thread, but I've run into a similar problem. Unfortuantely, my solution doesn't seem to be this simple. I do have content in my footer (and morefoot), but nothing shows up. I've even tried throwing a content box in the morefoot to see if that would show up. Nothing. They are not toggled to be hidden on the indvidual pages either.

Thing is, the footer used to be there. Showing up w/ no problem. I did recently update WordPress, but not Pagelines. I also have some custom CSS that relates to the styling in the footer, but wasn't causing any sort of problem before.

Anyway, I'm at a loss. If anyone is willing to take a look I'd be greatful:

Mike,

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but you're going to need a developer/programmer, urgently, as your site's been compromised and hacked.

I found the following where your site should in theory, be displaying the morefoot and footer:

<span style='display:none;'><a href='http://arbarb.com/OPAUmc'>link building services</a><a href='http://arbarb.com/YTRSXN'>buy generic levitra over the counter</a></span>
</body></html>

Call your hosting company immediately upon reading this.

The code could come from a bad plugin, but very clearly, someone compromised your site.

Thanks for the quick response. But I'm at a loss as to what to tell them. What am I asking of them, exactly (obviously spoken as a front-end guy...)?

Me again. I've rolled back the footer issue (which was a simple enough since just the footer.php was affected. Easy to fix once I knew what I was looking for). But back to the larger issue - the hack itself. What should I ask of my host provider (BlueHost)? I can change the WP access points and add another authentication layer there, but what can my host do to fix/change any other hacker entry points?

And if this is beyond the scope here, please tell me to buzz off....

Thanks again for the help. Was/is much apperciated.

Mike,

I wouldn't ever tell you to buzz off!  Promise!

I'd say to Bluehost "My site appears to have been hacked or malicious code added.  I'm not sure where or when, but recently, there have been some odd things.  My theme developer found this code (share it) and I don't know how it got in there. Can you guys help me find out how/when that was injected?"

They may say no. If they do, let us know and maybe we can send you to a developer who can help you clean it up and secure you against further attacks. Those are your main goals.

Thanks. I've opened a support ticket. I'll let you know what I hear.

And as I said, I was able to resolve the issue once you told me where to look. But yeah, I'd like for it to not happen again ;-)

The things to be concerned about are:

1.  How did they get in there?

2.  Did they add more code you haven't seen yet?

3.  How do you block them out

4.  Are you seeing any other issues
