Internet Explorer ignores background

Recommended Posts

Hey all, so I have a different style layout for the website, but there shouldn't be a reason internet explorer is ignoring the background. I used css to index that the homepage is to be one specific background and the rest uses another image for a background. Internet explorer is completely ignoring this. I never had a problem with it before. Any ideas?

Looking at your entire front page in IE9, I found

at the end of the page. I was not looking at source code, but suspect that something on your site, either content, a plugin or custom code is incomplete or broken. Many parts of the homepage appear out of alignment compared to how your site renders in Firefox. Some 65 errors and 23 warnings were found with the Validator http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.renderinnovations.com&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 I'd suggest going through each part of the homepage to see what might be incomplete or broken.

I'm sorry, I meant, the errors mentioned first wasn't what was creating the issue. I changed things around. I was experiementing with different functionalities that probably was way to whack. It's fixed with just more simple css solutions. Now the only issue is i'm trying to get the background for http://hopintheburg.com set... now this is more simple or it should be. I have the header background transparent and the body to be an image. There's a thread open, trying to solve this. And would you or anyone know of good reference sites to learn more of what is required when adding css for internet explorer? I apparently need to learn Here's another open thread: http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/21366/custom-content-background-not-working-in-internet-explorer#Item_1

I've come to the conclusion, that Internet explorer is having issues understanding which is !Important verses, the pagelines style.css sheet and the custom. Has this been an issue before? Sometimes this happens sometimes it doesn't. My example has been tryign to get the content background an image, or a background color, but I ended up going in to the backend to change the .content-pad and the #branding .content-pad. I had the same line of code on the custom part of pagelines, but ie wouldn't read it. Does this make sense? Has anyone seen similar issues?
