Excerpt length and "Allowed tags" not working

Recommended Posts

Hi, In Pagelines/settings/blog and posts I'm specifying an excerpt length of 100 words, and allowing the

tags. But when I check the blog page, the excerpt length remains unchained and the tags are not being "allowed". I've changed the excerpt length to different values just to make sure (200, 250 words) and it makes absolutely no difference. Please help. Thanks!

The only way it doesn't work is if either: 1. You have added a custom PHP function to define your excerpt length. or 2. You have a plugin that is conflicting. If # 1 is not true, then disable ALL of your plugins and see if the issue persists.

Ok... I went ahead and deactivated all plugins... the issue went away, meaning the excerpt now showed the 100 words I specified and respected the allowed tags. I activated the plugins one by one and it seems to be my sharing plugin that's causing the issue (Digg Digg) http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/digg-digg/ I'll contact the developers to see if the can fix it... Thanks

Glad you got it figured out @bschonfeld! You can probably try to use an all-in-one type of sharing plugin too. Social Sharing Toolkit works well for me. :)

Thanks again @simple_mama I have another discussion (http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/19709/re-sizing-the-post-thumbnail-featured-image-site-wide#Item_3) for which I accepted an answer... once accepted does that mean it's considered closed? if so, I should not have accepted it... Let me know
