Customize plugin versus using Custom CSS in settings

Question, Is there a difference in updating and making changes in the CSS using the customize plugin or in the Custom CSS in the pageline settings. Will I keep my edits using either method with a pagelines update?

If you update a theme and you're using either PageLines Customize or Custom CSS to add your CSS code, you should always have your CSS code backed up in a text file.
