joe_steer 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2012 Does anyone know why the text within my features looks shadowed/doubled? It happens in Chrome and Firefox and I don't like it! Here's a screen shot of what I mean: My test site is here: http://tinyurl.com/7rk7dqu Any help much appreciated! thanks, Joe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
catrina 103 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 I don't see the effect in the screenshot and I don't see it on your test site. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue...? Or just not seeing it with my eyes. joe_steer 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Hi Catrina, I can actually see the effect happen as each slide loads.. here's a screen shot in the split second as the feature slide loads: then it seems to double up the text so it's not as crisp: Any ideas how I can get rid of the double effect? Many thanks, Joe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jenny 33 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 I don't see the double effect on your site either. I also checked the CSS and there is no odd CSS for the feature text (i.e. no text shadow, etc). You can try adding this to your custom CSS although I have no idea if it will work as I don't see anything wrong:
#feature_slider .text-right .fexcerpt, #feature_slider .text-left .fexcerpt { font-weight: normal; }
♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up. joe_steer 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Hi Jenny, Unfortunately that custom CSS doesn't make any difference. I'm surprised you can't see the difference in my screenshots above? Many thanks for trying anyway. Joe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jenny 33 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Hi Joe. I can see the difference in your screen shots, but I cannot see one live on your site. Without being able to see it live, I'm not sure what other advice to give you. As I've said, there is no "bold" or "text shadow" element so I'm not sure what else it could be except for a fade effect (try turning it off if you have one?). ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up. joe_steer 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 I don't think I have a fade effect on, how would I find out if I did? many thanks, Joe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jenny 33 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Visit the page that has your features on it and edit that page. Check the PageLines Meta Settings at the bottom (click the Features tab). http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/How_to_Use_the_Features_Section ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up. joe_steer 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Oh I see, Yes it's still an issue regardless of the transition effect I use. I'm going to leave the topic open in case anyone else has encountered the same problem and can help out.. many thanks, Joe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Rob 547 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Joe, which browser did you see the problem with? I'm looking in IE9 and Firefox and see no issues. This could be browser specific. Are the features meta settings on the page the same as those set globally? Former PageLines Moderator, Food Expert and Raconteur Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
joe_steer 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 hmmm, looks like it happens on Firefox and Chrome on my Mac but not in Safari.. so does seem to be a browser specific issue. I think my meta/global setting are the seem. It's not a major problem so I think I'll just leave it! thanks for your help anyway. Joe. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
