How do I change a button color in a sidebar?

Recommended Posts

Hello. I placed a widget in my sidebar that is provided by MailChimp.com. Everything looks great except the Submit button is barely visible. I contacted Mailchimp and was told that this had to do with the CSS on my site. I don't know how to fix that. Could anyone help? Thank you.

I just love when plugin authors blame the theme without ever considering their own CSS. Actually, MailChimp adds this:
#mc_embed_signup .button { background-color: #AAAAAA; border: 0 none; border-radius: 4px 4px 4px 4px; clear: both; color: #FFFFFF; cursor: pointer; display: inline-block; font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold; height: 32px; line-height: 32px; margin: 0 5px 10px 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: top; white-space: nowrap; width: auto; }
It's the "color: #FFFFFF;" that's the problem. To test it, I changed it to color: #C00000; (deep red) and of course, the lettering became deep red in their button. Copy the code above into your Custom Code in CSS Rules and then change the color: #FFFFFF; to any color you prefer. If you don't know the hex color you want, try using http://www.colorpicker.com.

Thank you very much for your help. I'm sorry to say though that it's still not working for me. I even had a programmer in my office follow your instructions and we're not having any luck. We'll keep trying though. If you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks again.

In the meantime, we decided to install a mailchimp plugin and that seems to be working.
