Drop Down Menus and Category Menu Links Background Color

I have two menu item links that are showing the wrong background color when the page they are link to is the current page and in the drop down area. I want all my menu links to have a background color of #474747 and go white with a font color of #ff6666 when hovered over. One menu item has drop down children and they all have a background color of #ffffcc which I do not want. This also shows up on the blog menu item which is linked to the category blog. Can anyone tell me how to correct this css?
