3 Level menu css

Recommended Posts

Hi, Just started to use WP+Pagelines and finding it very powerful. There are a couple of things that I'm finding it hard to achieve and it's probably down to knowledge is the CSS in a 3 level menu. http://mindwp.users36.interdns.co.uk/ 1) The top level menu needs to be black when selected. (Hover seems ok if level1 is selcted but not level2 or level3.) 2) The background of unselected menus need to be black 3) If a level3 menu is selected each level of the related menu needs to be indicated. Sorry loads of questions and not a lot to start with so thank you in advance. Pete

	.navigation_wrap {
	font-size: large;
	background-image:url('http://mindwp.users36.interdns.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/bg_menu.jpg') !important;
	}

	.main-nav li a{
	    color: #ffffff;
	}

	.main-nav li a:hover {
	    background-color: #000000 !important;
	    color: #3BB9FF !important;
	}
	.main-nav .current-menu-item ul li a{
	    background-color: #000000  !important;
	  color: #3BB9FF !important;
	}
	.main-nav .current-menu-item ul li a:hover{
	    background-color: #000000 !important;
	  color: #ffffff !important;
	}

Hello Pete, Do you have installed Simple CSS Lite? It's a plugin to handle many of these menu issues. I think you're missing some elements like Active state, Visited and default link color. Check the info here: http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/sel_hover.asp Generally speaking, you're okay with your code. Looking at the menu, when I drop down to the next element, the "Visited" converts to the default grey, and the font goes white. I think some of the elements found in that link will help you to color the menu correctly. However so will that plugin. It's found in Dashboard > PageLines > Store Visit this site and view page source to see what I'm suggesting about the different active states. It's a similar menu to yours with colors applied in various states: http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/dl-dropdown.html Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

Simple CSS sorted out most of it thanks. Looking at their posts there is a problme with WP takeing the style for all of level 2 items when a level 3 is selected but this will have to do for the moment. Thanks Pete
