Trouble and confusion with sidebars

Recommended Posts

I feel really stupid but I'm having issues with displaying the correct sidebars on the correct templates (pages) on my web site. Every time I change the sidebar for my page using the "Blog" template, the sidebar on the page using "Template 1" changes to the same thing. Can someone please help? These are the correct sidebars to be using for "Sidebar" widgets, right? Universal Primary Secondary Tertiary Am I missing some setting that relates all the sidebars or something?

Make sure that the option to Hide Sidebars when empty is checked under "Remove Default Sidebars When Empty " in Dashboard > PageLines > Settings > Website Setup. In the page itself, you can then hide the sidebars you don't want by checking the "Hide Primary Sidebar" or any other that you wish hidden on that page. If the sidebar continues to appear, let us know. The sidebars aren't applied specific to that template but globally, and thus may be turned off globally (via Dashboard > PageLines > Settings > Meta > Blog Page and Archive Page). Yes, those are some of the sidebars available, but you can also use Content Box (which I think needs a plugin from The Store).

Thanks, that helped me figure it out. Although, I think this is overly complicated and needs to be looked at to simply the process. To have to do this to every single page every time I want a different sidebar is going to be a mess of work.

I'm still having the same issue and it's really frustrating. Why don't these sidebars just appear where I put them in the template sections of each page. :( Really frustrated, nothing I do seems to be correct. This product is driving me insane.

For now I'm just going to now use them until there is proper documentation on how they are to be used and not used. Which sucks, because it takes a lot of functionality out of a framework that I really, really wanted to work.

I tried your advice and used ContentBox section instead. But it is giving me the same problem. Whatever changes I make to the "Blog" side bar template also happen to the "Template 1" sidebar template.
