Need to add shortcodes to the Features Section Content Area

Recommended Posts

ddecort

I'm trying to use buttons generated with the Bad Ass Shortcodes plugin inside the featured content area, but it doesn't render. Does anyone know how to do this? I also tried the MaxButtons plugin but had the same results. I do not want to have the button in the media area. Thanks!

Hey there! First thanks so much for purchasing Bad Ass Shortcodes! Second, I'm looking into this as we speak and will figure out why that's not showing up for you. I have not tried to use them in custom post types yet but there may as well be a first time for everything! I'll post back soon with a follow up.

Hi, I've alerted the plugin developer to this issue and he's researching the use of the plugin with custom post types and taxonomies. Please contact him directly via the plugin's page, where it says "Contact" in the sidebar. http://www.pagelines.com/store/plugins/ba-shortcodes/ Thanks for your patience!

Okey dokey so the shortcodes seem to be working in all the custom post types and taxos just not in the excerpts. I've tried a few hot fixes on my end but they are not taking effect so I'm going to escalate this to the PageLines developers and see if we can't figure something out for you. In the mean time you may have to go commando with code. If you add something like

@catrina - first off, really impressed with the response from rangelone and bearded avenger. I would still really like to have short codes working in the content area of a feature, so personally I would not consider this issue closed until that happens. While the alternate method works for me now, it is a duct tape solution. I need this easy enough so my non-technical clients can add buttons using the icon in the toolbar (for b a short codes) above the content area in a feature, not having to convert the short code to raw html and classes. from bearded avenger's comment: "I'm going to escalate this to the PageLines developers and see if we can't figure something out for you." I'd like to see some kind of resolution from the Pagelines dev team, or a least an explanation of why it can't be done.

Hi ddecort, I've just added a shortcode for a third party slider in the PageLines Framework beta and it appears to work. Therefore, I think the developers are working on this issue.

Please search our forums, before posting!

BAAM! Like magical unicorn juice this has been made possible and is now part of PageLines 2.1.4, which was released today. You can now use Bad Ass Shortcodes (and others but mine rock harder :) ), in the features area after you update. Woot! If there's anything else I, or any of the PageLines crew can do for you please let us know! Bearded Avenger Over and Out!
