Update and Blog page

Recommended Posts

acsnebraska

I just updated from the free version of White House to the Pro version. We had minimal content up on our website, but our first two posts on our home page repeats the text (http://acslawnebraska.org). My second question is whether there is a way to set up more than one Blog page, or are we limited to the page templates provided to us? (I understand how to switch our post page into a "blog" page if needed, but would find it helpful to have more than one blog page template on the website). Thanks

The duplicate content is because you have the option set that shows the POST-EXCERPT on the single post page. Change this in the Page and Post options in the Theme options panel. Also, if you utilize categories, you can tag each post with a certain category and have those be items in your navigation. Then when you click on either category it filters the blog page and essentially gives you multiple blog templates. Is that what you need it for? Multiple post types?

Thank you for the answer to my first question. As for my second question, I guess what I am asking is if it is possible to have more than one "Posts" page. For instance, if I want to add add a page to the website (like a blog), none of the options in the Page menu allow me to have the page have the same functionality as a Posts page (i.e. to add posts). Sorry if I'm not being clear...using an example from our website, I'm wondering if we could simultaneously have our News tab have the same ability to post as our home page .

Sure, this is actually pretty simple. You could create a news category and apply it to ALL posts that are meant to be in your News section. Now install the plugin: Redirection from: Plugins > Add New Then from under: Tools > Redirection Set: http://www.acslawnebraska.org/?page_id=9 to forward to: http://www.acslawnebraska.org/category/news/ OR With the new WordPress menus feature: Appearance > Menus you can set the News menu tab to point to whatever URL you want. Thanks, Bryan
