Header padding suddenly stopped working

Recommended Posts

sbarrak

Hi, I recently added the following code to remove the padding around my header in my site: #branding .content-pad { padding-top: 0px; /* <--- Lower the number below to reduce the space */ padding-bottom: 0px; /* <--- Lower the number below to reduce the space */ } It was working great, but I've been making adjustments and somewhere along the way it stopped working. I don't know what I did, but I don't have any other custom CSS, nor do I have any additional plug-ins. Any ideas? My site is www.stephbarrak.com

What adjustments were you making? Were they adjustments made in the header settings?

I *believe* it occurred when I adjusted the width of the site, which cause the nav bar to wrap onto two lines. When I just the width back to default, the padding remained and couldn't be adjusted. Thanks so much for your help.

Are you just trying to reduce the space at the top of the header and below it (between the main content area and the bottom of the header)?

Yep, exactly. More specifically, the space in between the bottom of the header and the nav bar (if you hover your mouse, you can see there is a gap there where nothing is clickable)

Try adding this CSS:
div.branding_wrap {margin-top: -10px;} #nav div.texture {margin-top: -10px;}
You can adjust the pixel values until you get the desired amount of space. To learn how to do more with CSS customizations, please see this documentation: http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/Custom_CSS#How_to_use_CSS_Inspection_Tools
