Portfolio Grid: Portfolios Won't Re-Order

For the life of me I cannot get the portfolios to reorder - Have used several different post type plugins - have tried changing the published dates of the portfolios - have deactivated all plugins except the post type order plugin that is needed to accomplish the re-order. I am using portfolio to display the logos of all the news content sources on my site - so the portfolios need to display in alphabetical order - and I need to be able to create the portfolios as a source is identified and then re-order them on the fly. Currently the only way the portfolios will display is in descending order as they are uploaded - post date change doesn't re-arrange them either. Please help. Thanks!

folks hang tight. I think i got it worked out. It took a very long time for the changes to stick and I do not have my cache turned on. go figure. Anyway, please keep this post open until I confirm that I have resolved this. Thanks!
