Different Logo for Different parts of the site

Recommended Posts

Hi, I want to be able to divide the site into two parts with two logos. I know someone mentioned using a hook. Do I do that to basically be able to add a new 'branding' that I can add to a template which I use for one part of the site? Did I make any sense?!

I am thoroughly confused with your request (lol), but.. if you activate the Action Map plugin, you can see the hooks live on your site. You turn it on within the admin stripe at the top of the page (on your live site, not in the admin). More information about hooks: http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/PageLines_Themes If you don't think you are able to accomplish this on your own, we do have Pros available for hire at http://www.pagelines.com/pros/.

You need to create 2 separate hooks. @simple_mama explains where to put it in her message (above). @simple_mama: I believe he would have to separate hooks referring to logo files within Divs.Correct? The next piece is a bit tricky I think. @gayatriom: I went to your site. But it is in maintenance mode at the moment. Can you please show us which pages and where exactly you want the logos?

Its actually easy to change the URL without a 'hook' using the wordpress custom fields on the post/page screen and adding a url to the 'pagelines_custom_logo_url' field. The logo function in < 2.1.3 does not allow the same with images. However I have patched it into the latest 2.1.4 build which is not released but you can manually edit it if you like. It would give you a new field then pagelines_custom_logo for the url to the image. Open pagelines/includes/library.templates.php and replace pagelines_main_logo() function with the one here: http://paste.pagelines.com/3d Editing the file is at your own risk tho and not supported ;)

hey... ok to clarify. @simon If i change the code you said above then I just need to change the logo individually within each new page's custom field ?

Just to throw another idea out there, the Featured Branding section may work for you as well!
