Breadcrumbs & New Pagelines Framework

Recommended Posts

WebWerx

I thought I'd toss this one out there for discussion as it appears that the new PL Framework does not support implementation of Breadcrumbs right out of the box (What?). That being said, and after I parsed through lots of (some dated) posts, I did find some good advice. IE: http://goo.gl/030Mg I see 2 options available: Breadcrumbs via Yoast's SEO Plugin or Breadcrumb NavXT (which I have implemented via hook in my Base theme functions.php (Thanks to @zvelena). (I know there are probably others out there...) I am still mucking with this. For example, why would I want a breadcrumb trail to appear on my homepage? DOH! So... any thoughts out there?

I have since found that adding the hook here is better: pagelines_inside_bottom_nav

As a workaround for the "home" breadcrumb, I removed the content area from the home page. There are plenty of ways to show content on a front page, and you dont really need postloop to show in here.

whenever you don't want it to display, just hide it with css.

Count my vote also for the return of Breadcrumb NavXT I thought it was fantastic when I was using PlatformPro. It would be great to see it back on the pages.
