Hello I was playing around with the CSS on my blog page. I want the post layout to look like this one. http://www.projectgen.com/blog/ Mine looks very similar but there is one thing I need to change, the image size. I was playing around with the CSS but there are no changes. I think this is because it is pulling a thumbnail size. Can I change this with CSS or is it something with the html or php that would be harder to (for me at least) to change? Thanks! My blog page: http://ironandwoodside.com/?page_id=8

Please add the following CSS to Custom Code > Custom CSS in your PageLines Settings and change the #px value to the pixel width you want for your thumbnail image:
.post-meta img.attachment-thumbnail {width: #px;}
Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

Well, it does change it when I make it smaller, but not to make it bigger.

Hm, perhaps CSS isn't the right approach with this. I searched for a solution that doesn't require CSS and found this tutorial: http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/2009/12/23/new-in-wordpress-2-9-post-thumbnail-images/

can i just input this in Custom CSS where it reads "Header Scripts?" Is there a way I can input this while using wordpress or do I update the php file and upload it onto my server again?
add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' ); set_post_thumbnail_size( 50, 50, true );
doesnt work

I just looked at your site and found this: Fatal error: Call to undefined function the_post_thumbnail() in /home/content/94/7276594/html/wp-content/themes/pagelines/functions.php on line 23 Did you make a change to the functions.php? That one in the error is a core file and should not be modified.

This site: http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/2009/12/23/new-in-wordpress-2-9-post-thumbnail-images/ you noted is actually three years old and any code you may find there may not work in PageLines as we're not a theme, but a framework. Adding any code from that site to your functions.php or header section can and likely will break your site. Please be patient as we attempt to assist. If you can undo whatever you may have edited, that would help considerably.

Yes, I did make a change to that file because I was trying to resize the blogroll thumbnail. We tried CSS, but that doesn't help if one wants to make the thumbnail larger. We then tried Catrina's suggestion to make changes to the function.php as outlined in this tutorial http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/2009/12/23/new-in-wordpress-2-9-post-thumbnail-images/. However, considering the outcome, we must have jumbled things up a bit. Is there an effective way to change the thumbnails on the blog page? We want a look similar to this one. http://www.projectgen.com/blog/

I apologize for that. The tutorial dates to a time prior to WordPress implementing feature images as a standard. I saw the site you're trying to emulate. It is possible to achieve this and I'm not sure if Catrina used the wrong selector. Is your site back now?

No, I won't be able replace my functions.php file until I get home and can use filezilla. Is there a way I can update my function.php just on wordpress? I've been looking everywhere and I can't find another way to get it back. Everytime I click on the functions.php in the wordpress editor I keep getting the fatal error

Unfortunately, not without overwriting and reinstalling PageLines.

Ok, I have it running now. How should I go about resizing my blog thumbnail?

Okay, the reason Catrina's CSS didn't work is that WordPress creates a thumbnail size image. If you have Firebug for Firefox, and inspect the image you'll see:
il_fullxfull_311439163
The image is fixed to 150 and CSS won't increase the size. If you look inside your images folders, you'll see that when you upload an image, WordPress creates several sizes. Unfortunately, the developer who I need to help me with this part of the problem is in Europe and I can't get to him to ask about the proper way to reselect the size. I'm sorry, but I think we'll have to wait till tomorrow to get his reply.
